Some of the best food I've had since moving to Tennessee from SoCal. I recommend their garlic soy ginger sauce with a side of broccolini. Their chicken and banana pudding are also amazing! We will definitely be regulars there.

Excellent gluten free menu with all the things you've been missing! Will be our frequent favorite when visiting Johnson City! Talked to the owner/chef Jeff which was a real treat. He told us all about how his restaurant became gluten free through experimenting. He primarily used rice flour which gives the fried chicken and waffles a light and crispy yumminess. The chicken was delicious and paired with the waffles and a spicy maple syrup with bacon was a tasty delight. Lots of options including gluten free biscuits which we will be coming back for! Fried pickles, delicious crunchy sweet potato fries and grilled tenders were also served for a gluten and dairy free plate. Yum yum yum. Gluten free or not come visit Voodoo Chicken!!!

My husband, daughter and I went for lunch while we were dropping her off at ETSU from her thanksgiving break. It wasn't loud for lunch and it wasn't busy. I can see it being a pretty happening place at night. My salad was awesome. Tasty crispy chicken salad with ranch was huge. So so good. I also had their fried Mac bites were delicious, I just wish I had ordered more. If you know you'll like these... get 2 orders.

Excellent food and awesome counter service from the staff. We had the strips which were huge with cheerwine bbq sauce and sweet chili sauce. The mac and cheese is really good and not some boxed stuff. We will definitely be back.

Nashville Hot Chicken in JC! We love spicy sweet heat fried chicken. Three chicken tenders and a side:Two Cheerwine and one Nashville Medium. Wishing I got all three Nashville medium because it was that good. Their side of fried pickles and ranch dip is the best side as you can dip your chicken in the ranch to tone down the heat and still enjoy eating it. Friendly servers take your order and guide you through the menu. The owner comes around while you are eating to ask how the food is. Upstairs behind the Rum Bar for great views of Commerce Street and downtown JC. This is our second visit and won't be our last.

While my mom was in ICU we went to check this place out. Downstairs is a bar and upstairs is where you order and eat.Their chicken is to die for! Thoroughly enjoyed it and service was fast.They have a decent selection of beer too.

Food is great and atmosphere is exceptional, won't describe it, you have to experience it for yourself, the front half is kind of a speak easy bar vibe, I'll try it next trip, added bonus, try the coffee and pastry shop next door, even getting into the place, was an adventure of sorts two totally unique places that close together, all I can say is Wow You can thank me later

This place could be easy to miss because it's located inside the back of another business (the Rum Bar). Their hot chicken sandwich lives up to the name Voodoo Chicken in a good way. Lots of options to customize your heat level or particular sauce (I recommend the Cheerwine sauce). Although the Rum Bar is technically a separate business, you can easily float between locations which makes for a fun atmosphere.

I can't have gluten and ate my way through Tennessee for a full week getting glutened left and right, and this was by far the best meal I had AND didn't make me sick. I had the chicken tenders, fried pickles, coleslaw and even the banana pudding dessert. Delicious!!

I am giving five stars NOT for a perfect experience. We came and ordered; unfortunately my order got messed up. I ordered a breast and a side but I got a breast and a thigh. Long story short, the owner mad it right, he gave me a gift card for $10. The chicken is great. And the sides are great. There isn't anything that is great. And will be back. The primary reason is the owner created a result that I didn't expect. The person who took my order made an honest mistake but the owner created an outcome that I didn't expect. The vibe to the place is neat. In the lower level you can get a drink but the food is enough.
