Authentic California Mexican Grill is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu—but my personal favorite is the enchiladas. They taste truly authentic and never disappoint.
The chips and salsa are already amazing, but when you add the avocado dip from the salsa bar, they become next-level delicious.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. The owner treats every guest like family, as if you’re walking into his home. It’s warm, welcoming, and genuine.
I travel quite a bit—California, Nogales, South Texas—and I can confidently say this is my favorite spot for Mexican food. The prices are great, the portions are generous, and it’s usually calm and relaxing without the loud hustle and bustle.
For the quality of food they serve, this place should be packed all the time. Maybe it’s a hidden gem—but I know one thing for sure: every time I come home, this restaurant is on my must-visit list.

Found this place online. Carlos greeted and waited on us. He was the only one aside from the cook I saw there. He was super positive and on top of it! Very kind and although he was the only one he did an amazing job. The food was great as well

First time being here but the food is absolutely 💯 amazing! Huge portions and the Sweet Tea is the best in kingsport. I can't recommend this place enough.

This is a hidden gem in Kingsport! Discovered on a recommendation of a friend and we will be back. Great food not hidden under a mound of jalapeño peppers. Super friendly and fairly priced!

One man operation, so if you have a deadline, I'd skip this one. But if you have time, he is sweet and very impressive taking care of everything.
