We really enjoyed breakfast here. Good food, prompt and friendly service!
Evelyn’s Kitchen Table in Kingsport serves up one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had—no exaggeration.
The grits were thick, hearty, and absolutely perfect—exactly how grits should be. I had a dish with bacon and grits, and every bite hit the mark. The bacon was crisp and smoky, pairing perfectly with the rich texture of the grits.
On top of that, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. This place is a must-stop for breakfast lovers.
HUGE BISCUIT!!!! The Nashville hot chicken biscuit with slaw and pickles was an excellent choice ! The homemade biscuit was enormous and had an entire chicken breast ! Wow! Delicious!
We have been coming to Evelyn's at least once a month for over a year and absolutely love it. Great people, fantastic food, and a laid back environment.
We stopped as we passed through on a long trip and we were blown away at how friendly the service and how delicious the food was. The latte was one of the best I've had, especially from a place where coffee isn't the main focus.
The portions were generous.
I’ve never had anything from Evelyn’s that I didn’t love!! The food is always great, huge portions, and it’s really fresh. Plus, the rotating Sunday brunch is always interesting and a fun way to mix it up!
Although this place is located in a strip mall, it’s our favorite breakfast restaurant ever. Food and staff were fantastic. I’m from PA, but this is a worthwhile place to stop and we will definitely go back. Biscuits, gravy, waffles, and chicken were delicious!
Best breakfast you can get in Kingsport. The food is high quality/fresh, and the staff is always friendly.
When we arrived we were told the kitchen had to catch up, so we needed to wait 10/15 min. We were offered to pick where we wanted to sit which was nice. After reviewing the menu, the prices were pretty high. Most of the items on the menu gone up in price between .50¢-$2.00 between an 8 month period when the restaurant uploaded the prices of their menu. The menu has been laminated and white out over the previous dollar value and you can see the increase. They seemed to have been out of some items that we asked for or were unsure if they had it or not. Not much bacon in the bacon egg and cheese waffle. The water tasted clean and filtered, actually drinkable. Dishes appeared to be clean. The restaurant was clean and bright. There was one large table in the back towards the restrooms for what seemed to be for family gathering or party. There was one men’s and one women’s restroom, spacious and clean. Checkout is done at the table, so you don’t have to wonder if you need to make way to the front to pay. Plenty of parking, ground floor with outdoor seating.

Love the gravy and biscuits!! We discovered this unassuming place because it was close and highly rated on Google. You should try it!

I can’t see us giving this place a 3rd try. We went for brunch today with new friends. We were lucky and our group of 7 was sat right away. However once seated nobody came to even take a drink order for at least 15 minutes. Staff was friendly but food was terrible. I had an omelette with potatoes. The omelette was so salty I couldn’t eat it. I had a goat cheese and spinach omelette. What the heck k would even make it salty??? The potatoes were old, dry and hard. Couldn’t eat those either. The second they put the plate down I could tell my looking at them that they would be awful…..so they knew that too when they decided to serve them. My husband got a salad with chicken on it and he complained his chicken was extremely salty. I had him try my omelette and he was shocked. And he likes salty food! We weren’t impressed after our first visit over a year ago either. Prices are high for what you get and the place is a total dive on top of it. I chalk the good reviews up to extremely low expectations of other people and the lack of any decent place to eat in Kingsport, especially for brunch.

Evelyn's Kitchen Table does not disappoint! We've come twice now and have been blown away by the quality of food they serve. It's classic home cooking but elevated to make it special. Worth every penny and now a regular stop for my husband and I.
