Fantastic cheeseburger. Crinkle cut fries. Mighty good Sal, better get you some.

But there is only seating for 15, you might have to plan your visit at an off time

Stopped in to grab some lunch and was informed they onlying accept cash or check. So disappointed as we had 4 people wanting to eat here.

My husband and I had an early breakfast, ordering biscuits and gravy with an egg and grits. Unfortunately, the grits were served in a small portion, similar to a kid's serving. The gravy was bland and chunky, and the biscuits had a strange, cake-like texture. For nearly $20, we expected better. What a waste!

I had been driving back and forth past this place for months and finally stopped in. This is a great local spot for breakfast. The service is friendly. The food is tasty and affordable. The menu is pretty much all a la carte, so you can put together your own breakfast from plenty of options. Bring kids, bring family, bring a friend. This place is good for everyone.

My sister and I travel alot and we like to eat at the local restaurants. We were getting ready to leave kingsport when we decided to try Kay's Restaurant. When we walked in we were unsure if we just sat anywhere or if we needed to wait to be seated. We waited patiently for someone to acknowledge our presence. After we had been standing there for about five to seven minutes and no one acknowledging us I went to the window and asked if we needed to order there. The lady said no that we could just sit anywhere. We sat down at the only booth left in the very small restaurant. The waitress came over and took our order. She brought out our drinks and set them down and walked away. A little while later she brought our food. The food was good. She never came back to check on us or ask if we needed refills. But she made sure that the other customers had what they needed. We were the youngest customers in the restaurant (we are in our 40's) and we got strange looks from several of the other customers as if we didn't belong. There was a couple of gentlemen sitting beside us that were polite and chatted with us but for the most part we were made to feel that we didn't belong and that we needed to hurry up and leave. When you are finished with your food you are supposed to carry your dishes to the window where you pay. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone under the age of 60.

40 years in business, must mean that they're getting it right! Loved the sausage gravy. Perfect taste with the homemade biscuits. It's not fast food. It's GOOD food cooked to order. Bring CASH. Cards not accepted. Definitely will stop in again to try another meal.

There was no place to sit as the restaurant was full. Never acknowledged nor greeted by any of the staff. 1 member of party was on a cane, and no one approached to acknowledge party and offer to let them return to their vehicle where they could sit until a table was available.
