Worst produce department ever!! Didn’t have 4-5 items that I wanted. Store looks dirty and run down. Probably won’t go back

Walked around for an hour or so getting milk. And picked up about $100.00 worth of groceries and merchandise. Got to the front and no one was there to check out. I go looking around and found a guy named Tyler sitting on a bench behind self checkout on his phone. He asked if he could help me and I said I need to check out. He said self checkout is open. I told him about a horrible experience I had at Walmart at self checkout and he replied they are not Walmart. I asked if he could scan them for me and his response was I’ll help and watch you do it but stressed he was not going to do it all by himself. I said are you really going to not check me out??? I’m buying food and I’m not trained to scan these things and if I get it wrong I risk being charged for theft. He assured me that would not happen and stated again he was not scanning them for me. Stores not closed but they had shut down all registers and emptied the drawers of cash. Only thing open was self checkout. If you don’t hear the correct beep or something doesn’t scan right you literally can be charged with theft. I told him I didn’t want to risk it and I can’t believe he wouldn’t ring up the F’n food and let me pay for it. I probably should not have cursed but what is wrong with companies today?? It like the customer doesn’t matter anymore. I told him I guess I could leave the food for them to waste more money on top of not making a sale. His response was “that would be fine”. I asked to speak to a manager and was told to come back tomorrow. So I left the food with Tyler. Took a picture of the food and of Tyler. I know it won’t do much but I’m going to tell my experience to Kroger corporate and if I am near there in the next couple days I’ll go speak to the manager. If enough of us stop using the self checkout when you got more than one or two items, kids like Tyler could have a job. I even told him those machines are going to cost people their jobs. He laughed and said he liked them it gave him a job. Good job kid, think only of yourself, not others, the customers, or the company actually making sales. That’s not a recipe for success. It’s gonna get worse before business figures out the old way of helping consumers of their products is profitable. Problem is these entitled kids are the managers now and finding good help is not easy. Everyone might just have to suffer and learn from experiences that are less than desirable. Just my two cents….

Today I visited the deli. It seemed to be understaffed. I waited about 15 minutes while an employee sliced several different meats and cheeses. He looked at me a few times. A lady walked up and he waited on her before he waited on me! I was shocked!

The store was clean. The deli looked nice, organized and had many good foods to choose from.

Customer service at this store is the worst I have ever experienced. You don’t check out a customer from a closed register who just walks up without offering to check out one of the 4 people standing in the only open register line patiently waiting. It’s rude and unacceptable.

You should probably have someone who knows what they are doing behind the customer service counter at the busiest time of the day. Poor girl was sweet as she could be but really needed help. Poor management decision. I had to leave and go somewhere else.

I would recommend Kroger except for one thing. Home chef meal kits. My daughter brings them to me when she comes to visit from Richmond. The kits are AMAZING. Last night I made a creamy Parmesan steak Penne pasta. Tonight was fried chicken with chipotle lime aioli and roasted potatoes with garlic and cilantro . Best of all, delicious dinners in an hour or less , including prep. These meals are perfect for two, or in my case for dinner and work lunch the next day. WHY? Kroger, WHY? You need to carry these sweet little amazeballs boxes of goodness.

I normally love going to Kroger’s but tonight I thought other wise. Some big headed guy named nick that works here was completely RUDE as he always is!! He is disrespectful to not only customers but to his fellow coworkers and I have witnessed it !! But tonight the way he acted towards me was boarder line harassment!! I would not recommend receiving his “assistance”
