Let me just start off by saying I've never had a bad experience at this place until today. I came in and was immediately asked if my service dog was a "service dog". When I replied with yes we got seated and it was going fine until the main manager came to our table. He asked me for proof that my dog was a service dog and to see any identification for the dog. When I told him I didn't have my papers on me as they were in the car he proceeded to tell us we needed to go sit outside due to a "new protocol" that started. According to Tennessee state law public places are prohibited from asking you questions about your disability or from asking for certification regarding your service dog. After this experience I won't be coming back. He was very rude and I tried to be understanding but no restaurant as ever made me move to the BACK area of the outside sitting. This will possibly go into a court case as I wish this no one else and hopefully it'll fix this "new protocol" they have.

The food was really good. They have a diverse menu, and the waiters and waitresses are knowledgeable. This is a place that you could go to and get something different each time and be happy with the quality of food.

Clean eating area, attentive serversNo loud music (I prefer to be able to talk without raising my voice over music)There was one GF/DF item on the menu (although my waitress did request a clean grill to insure no butter)Tilapia con mango $16All other items served with some level of dairyDietary restrictions: They do not guarantee allergy free dishes without cross contamination, but the tilapia con mango just doesnt come with dairy

The food was bland and tasteless! It's a very pretty place, though, but I will not go back.

Me and my boyfriend has been going to Santa Fe Mexican restaurant for about 2 years and was always happy with the service and food. Everyone always was so nice and the food was great. We loved it. The best Mexican restaurant in Kingsport Tennessee. But a couple of days ago I went and got me and him and my stepdaughter a dinner and when I was eating it, I got half way thou it & it had a piece of a hair net or something in it. I am not sure exactly what it was, it was black and I had to pull it out of my mouth with a napkin & after that I couldn't eat. And the last several times I went and got us something, something was wrong with 1 of our dinners and they got rude with me. I will not eat there again. It is not the same.

My family and myself have enjoyed take out and dine in ever since they opened the doors for business depending on our schedule and loved this restaurant above all others. Here the last few time's they haven't been as kind and friendly as usual and today they was what looked to be maybe part of a hair net or something of the sort. I honestly have no clue what it was. Needless to say after having to spit something so disgusting like that out I have no intention of ever returning to santa fe mexican grill. I truly thought this was the best restaurant in kpt. I'm not even angry really. Just disappointed more than anything!!!

The food looks amazing but is rather flavorless. It's a real letdown. Even the salsa was bland. We've had inconsistent service, food, and drinks going here. I've been here 3 times, hoping it was a fluke, but it seems to be their norm.
Just the best place to eat
