The best 18$ sirloin you're going to find in this area. The staff is extremely hospitable. The restaurant is clean. We plan to make this our new steakhouse go-to in the tri cities, keep up the great work!

I took my wife here for a birthday date, it was our first time trying out the restaurant. Food, service, and ambiance were wonderful. The food came out quick, all needs were attended to timely, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices are good for the amount and quality of food. Without a question in my mind we will keep coming back as long as we have cash in our bank account and the doors are open.

All around 5 star experience. My wife and I came in as first time diners today and were absolutely blown away. The waitress was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The owner himself even was willing to pitch in and provide fast service. The ranch dressing on the salad was not your average store bought Hidden Valley but rather a homemade ranch that was amazing. The buns on the burger were lightly toasted with butter on the grill and made the flavor pop.Everything was above expectation for a small locally owned restaurant.Definitely impressed us and we will certainly become regulars in time.Im normally a very critical person that find something I don’t like about an experience but I found nothing but good people, good service, and good food.Excited for my next visit already.

5 stars – A True Hidden Gem in Colonial Heights!
Zachary’s Steakhouse is more than just a place to eat—it’s a place where you feel like family the moment you walk through the door. On our recent visit, the owner, Yared Desalegn, was personally in the kitchen preparing our Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, and they were absolutely delicious. I started with their vegetable beef soup, which was rich and flavorful—perfectly seasoned and served piping hot.
We also ordered the onion rings after seeing a photo of them on the front of the building, and we were not disappointed—they were hands-down the best onion rings I’ve ever had: crispy, golden, and flavorful without that overly strong onion taste.
Yared came out to speak with us after we ate and even took a photo with me at our table. He’s not only an excellent chef and host, but also a pillar of the community. He owns Colonial Heights Hardware next door and has gone out of his way—literally opening the hardware store for us on a closed day—to help us when we were in need.
This is the kind of place where the owner remembers your name, the food tastes like it came from your grandma’s kitchen, and the service is second to none. Zachary’s is a true local treasure, and we’ll absolutely be back.
Highly recommended!

8 oz steak hahaha medium rare hahaha
Worst I've had in a long time. Don't do the steak here.
Nice out of the way place
I can't believe the downhill slide at this restaurant. I used to come here and give 5 stars on everything! Not today. I don't know what has happened. Service was the pits. She never once asked if everything was ok or if she could get me anything else. I had to stop her to ask for a drink refill then again to ask for condiments. It was obvious by the looks that the cucumber in my salad had been cut and stored for some time. They were on the edge of slimy and the tomatoes were 'off' today. I was so excited that it was meatloaf day. I've had it before and it was great. Not today. I couldn't eat it. I did tell the lady at checkout how disappointing the meal was but it was obvious she really didn't care. So sad. It used to be a great little mom and pop diner.
Awesome steaks
Always a great meal and excellent customer service.
