Definitely out of the way, but worth it! Delicious food and drinks with a great vibe.
We came for brunch and wanted to eat on their patio, which the host said was not actually their patio and told us we'd have to place a to-go order. We did that, but the front staff didn't know how to use the to-go order POS, so we held up the line and I felt really bad. When we finally got done ordering, we saw another group of people sit at the patio and be served like normal! That was confusing. Also, it seems the restaurant cannot make vegetarian substitutions. I tried to order the 71 Hash with no bacon, which they said isn't possible - no big deal. I then asked for the waffles royale with no sides of sausage or gravy, which they also said wasn't possible, so I gave up on brunch and just ordered the black bean burger. It was quite good, though.
Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled veggie options, but will not make vegetarian substitutions such as removing a side of sausage.

This was my first visit to 71 South. My friend & I had spent a few hours riding the mountain bike trails Baker Creek so we had an appetite to satisfy. My buddy had eaten here a few times before and he said I was going to be impressed.
He was correct. The dining area and bar are located in a vast sanctuary of a former church. It's very open, with a high ceiling and large windows for lots of light, so the vibe is good energy.
Our server, Katelyn, was happy to describe the menu items I had questions about and made us feel welcome.
The chargrilled portobello was excellent, and its cherry balsamic glaze was especially delicious.
I'll be back and will try the smash burger and will ask if they will sell a container of the cherry balsamic glaze to take home!

A friend and I met for lunch today at 71 South, a restaurant located in a former chapel. The dining area is open and charming with lights and greenery hanging from the ceiling, creating a warm and pleasant environment. There was a cool bar in what used to be the alter area but we were seated by one of the large windows along the side, giving us plenty of room and a place to enjoy the sunlight.
We split Brussels fried sprouts topped with bacon, goat cheese and a balsamic dressing—yum! Although there were many good entrees to choose from, the buffalo (chicken) salad I chose was delicious. Wanting something gluten free, my friend opted for the chicken chili, which also proved to be tasty and good. Portions were generous.
The service was quick and excellent — the server anticipated our needs and replenished our iced tea without waiting to be asked — a small thing but very much noticed appreciated. Highly recommend if you want good food, lots of choices, friendly, open and un-rushed service. We’ll be back soon!
Dietary restrictions: There were vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu.

It's a nice place to stop for a bite and a sip. Very unique atmosphere in a former church. The menu is limited, but the food was good and was easy on the wallet.

What a fantastic place! The building is beautiful, inside and out. The food was amazing. I had the charbroil portobello which was delicious. The fried egg sandwich and the 71 burger were both great too. The loaded potatoe fries were fabulous. Our waitress Sofie was so polite and attentive. Totally need to check this restaurant out for ourself because it's one of the best.

We have been here several times and the service and food are ALWAYS fantastic. This trip in, our son was in town and we brought him (and his new girlfriend) for the first time. We sat at the bar to watch the games and the bartender, Tala (who was also our waitress), was incredible. She made some suggestions for drinks and food and got them to us in a timely manner. She was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. We got the burgers and fries, and also got the portobello mushroom meal and tofu sandwich. Everything was incredible. Thank you 71 South...and Tala...for making this a great night with my family.
