Great food, cool place. Everybody ate everything. Will definitely be back
We stopped here on vacation, loved it! The food was great and the vibes are perfect! Would come back again if we were in the area.
Not sure if building a bar inside of a church is a good idea....
Ate here with friends Sunday. I'm not a big meat eater and was glad to see there were sandwich options that did not include meat! I got the Portabella Philly and it was awesome! Service was great too! This was our fist time eating here but will be going back!
We ate at 71 South after the Knoxville Connection event yesterday, and everything was great! I had the Portabella Philly with fries—even though I wasn’t that hungry, it was so good I ate the whole thing! Everyone in our group really enjoyed their food.

Hands-down one of the best meals I’ve had in Knoxville!
71 South absolutely blew us away. First off — do not skip the Brussels sprout appetizer...these are crispy, flavorful, and totally addictive. Perfectly charred with just the right seasoning — they could honestly be a meal on their own.
The fried chicken sandwich was another standout — juicy, crunchy, and packed with flavor, with a kick that keeps you going back for more. I also tried the steak frites, and they nailed it — tender, perfectly cooked steak with fries that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Speaking of fries… both the regular and sweet potato versions are next-level. I usually lean toward one or the other, but here? You have to get both. Trust me.
The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the service was just as impressive as the food. Already planning our next visit. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!
We loved this place. Passing through on a family road trip and found this restaurant in a quick Google search. A little off the main road and worth the short detour. We had brunch- the burrito and hash. I liked that they were both a little different than typical breakfast dishes you get elsewhere and both were very delicious. The restaurant is in an old church that has been renovated to house other businesses as well. It was very tastefully done and we thought the decor was perfect. Bonus that there is a lot of beautiful natural light coming in the large windows of what would have been a chapel or sanctuary. The staff was friendly and it seemed to be a very inclusive environment. Wish we lived close enough to eat here more often!
Halona was amazing and the food was great!
The atmosphere amazing. The service was great. It's worth your time.
Prices are good and folks are very friendly! The complex (old church) is getting more and more businesses and growing the whole vibe.

The restaurant was in renavated church. The food was ok. Couldn't make some accommodation with the food. My sister in law can't eat some foods. We made do. It seemed as they hadn't been open long. Our server was a bit frazzled as we were a party of 7. Parking was not clear. Finally found the lot. I think with time they will get things down and will run better.
Had a long exhausting day and needed a steak an accoutrements to round it out. 71 South did not disappoint. Had the steak fries with fries and broccolini. Was all delicious and made my day. I appreciate the calm atmosphere and courteous staff. They just need a bigger sign to make it obvious they are in the old chapel.
I will be back for more
Such a great vibe and beautiful restaurant. Inside is such an open and warm environment that offers a quality service. The food was tasty and we would be willing to go back for another visit.
What a creative and beautifully repurposed space. The food was EXCELLENT and very reasonably priced. Service was perfect. Highly recommend.
The food was very good and fresh!! I had their chicken sandwich and their salad. The atmosphere was relaxing and I loved all the church windows bringing in the natural lighting. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and worked well together in a very serene setting. It was a great stop for a cozy, inviting lunch. My family and I will be back!
