“I’ve eaten at JC Holdway many of times over the last 4 years with my last visit being earlier this week. The food has always been delicious but this last visit exceeded expectations. We were so excited to eat we didn’t even get pictures of our food.
Of course the food was fresh and local but all elements of every dish we ate were executed at such high levels it blew my wife and I away. From creativity in plating to salt levels and acidity. Our dinner was phenomenal. Thank you to Chef Lenn and the whole team in the kitchen and at front of house.

What we ate:
Smoked fish dip (ask for extra chips if you run out before your dip is gone)
Pork belly biscuits (must order)

Grilled shrimp (my favorite)
Carrots (could have eaten 2 orders of this)

Chicken (stole the show)
Pork chop (amazing flavor)

“I’ve been eating at this restaurant since my UT days(about 10 years ago! 😭🙂‍↕️😅) and it’s STILL delicious!!! Being from Queens, NYC, this is the only place in Tennessee I trust to make a Reuben that reminds me of home. The staff is so incredibly friendly and have remained that way since the 1st time I came in, 10 years ago! EVERYTIME you drive down Sutherland Ave, ask yourself “why haven’t I eaten here yet?!” Then just do it!! It’s worth it!!”

Place an online order for delivery Friday and had some confusion and got delayed called and spoke with someone.Got it taken care. The app showed issues the next day so I stopped in at the store and cici( I believe that was her name) Was a wonderful help. She got my order right away for me. So helpful and kind. Spoke with some of the other employees and they all seemed so nice and optimistic. Adding another photo”

“We went here for our annual office Christmas dinner. The food was incredible- but the service was TOP NOTCH. All the servers were great but our main server Grace was knowledgeable as most of us had never been there before, our guys can get obnoxious and she handled them great and she was on top of everything. We didn’t feel rushed or like we were waiting for anything even though we spent over four hours enjoying our experience. 5 out of 5 stars would def recommend and am going to personally bring family back for celebrations. Great times were had by us all.”

“Anna H was a real rockstar....she never expected to serve 5 unhinged 30+ women that required a release from the shackles of a corporate 9-5 life....but here we came.....one by one....each representing a cast member from Sex In City 😅.... the pressures of perfection in the work place desolved after the first round..... We were loud, rambunctious, and feral. She never wavered in the constant chaos of indecisiveness. Instead..... like a guiding light in the night she pointed us in the direction of the most heavenly nectars the place had to offer. As we studied the menu like we didn't already know what we wanted when we came in.....she patiently waited. Collectively of as a group we decided it would be best to have their summer special.......... Weenies and martinis!!!!!! The perfect flight of hot dogs and martinis..... “First time eating there. Read Grubhub article in paper. He was wrong in his rating, it's a 5! For anyone really serious about Korean/Japanese fine cooking KOKO is a must. It has been said that we eat with our eyes too. Dishes were finely presented and they tasted as good as they looked. Dishes are light and complex without being fussy. I believe they have set the bar for Asian cuisine in Knoxville.”

“The store was busy as all get out people where in line out the door and a cute red headed lady was running the place like a general leading the troops to battle she sent one waitress per each flank and I swear those hashbrownd didn't know what hit em they found themselves scattered, smotherd and coverd before they knew what hit em and to add insult to injury that cute red headed waitress/cook chopped pepperd cappd and finally topped like nobody's buisness. I do declare that fine little red headed filly then comensed singing the waffle house song while she washed every dish in the place 3 times all by herself. “The lady at the Casey's off of gallaher in waterbridge the lady that works there is very sweet she always lets me get us some ice for my cooler so I don't have to pay $4 for a 7 lb bag of ice that melts within three hours out in this heat she really helps me and my crew out we only get paid biweekly and I also have stage 4 breast cancer with metastatic disease so I miss a lot of work she is a blessing now remember I only ask 1 time a week and if it's my pay week I buy it, yeah she is such a blessing to my crew without her help we would have to drink hot water all day long thank you for hiring such a sweet and caring people at your stores”

“My visits to this station since it opened and was renamed have been positive. In recent visits in the evening I have been waited on by Erica. Well tonight the receipt on my pump was again not working I went inside and asked for a receipt and she politely provided one to me. Apparently they're going to do a remodel on this station and it will be closed for a while and that will be sad since I've had good experiences lately. One other station on Chapman highway I've mostly experienced people who didn't value friendliness and building relationships as we all know that's good for business. A recent visit to the Chapman store the lady was not friendly at all and said the only way I could join Casey's rewards was by downloading the app on my phone. At first I thought that was a terrible way to run a company but when I verified the validity of that lady statement, Erica told me that wasn't true and provided some help on me registering through the website. That way I can come in and provide my phone number when I'm buying gas or products and get the rewards or the reward points. I can't believe what a night and day experience it was from the lady at the others Casey's store to the good store on middlebrook Pike. I hope they get the remodel done quick and I hope I get to see the smiling, helpful, kind presentation of the cashier Erica. I definitely felt valued as a customer and as a person during this visit and was able to converse a little bit more as no customers were waiting. Please come in and visit this station if you're reading this review.”

“Great selection of snacks and drinks, always had nice and quick employees. The rewards program is worth it. Love that Casey's makes there own line of snacks and candy, I can find some things here that I can't other places. Their cold coffee is pretty good, salted caramel is my favorite but I like all of them.”

“They created my 31st birthday cake and it was absolutely amazing! Not only did it look beautiful, but it was also incredibly delicious. I can be pretty picky about flavor and texture, but they completely nailed it. I recently moved to Knoxville and was hoping to find a bakery that I could truly love and keep coming back to, and this experience made that happen. The whole process from ordering the cake to picking it up and finally tasting it was smooth and wonderful. My whole family loved it, I will definitely be ordering future cakes from them!”

“I was craving some good chicken tenders and coleslaw. I remembered seeing this place and wanted to try it out. 10/10 in my opinion. The chicken tenders are so tasty and the sauces are all great. We tried bbq sauce, honey mustard and ranch. We also had the fries which were amazing! We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu and to try some of the custard. The price for 7 tenders, regular fry, coleslaw and 2 extra sauces came out to a little over 20 bucks.”

“This place is AWESOME!! From the cleanliness of the place as well as indoor and outdoor seating, courteous staff to the incredible flavors of ice cream, donuts and I especially love the pretzel. The best I've ever had! the ice cream is so creamy and fresh every time I've been there! My whole and extended family love this place and my 16 year old granddaughter says the ice cream is the best she's ever had...and that's saying something! “I do recommend Cava and was only given the option to recommend or not recommend. BUT it would be helpful if they would post updated hours when closing early (which I have ran into on multiple occasions) to their website or social media platforms. There have also been occasions where they stopped online orders early and were out of ingredients when we went in store close to closing. But overall I do love having food from here. It is delicious and easy to pick up even until the 9 o’clock hour- usually.”

“I’ve had friends recommend Hello Tea House many times. Today my husband and I finally tried it!! The gal who waited on us - I think she’s an owner - was so helpful and patient with us newbies!! 💕 We got savory spicy chicken crepe sandwiches and bubble teas to start. It was cool to watch the sandwich making process from beginning to end! And both the teas and sandwiches were DELICIOUS!! Of course, we saved room for dessert. Thankful we did!! The wild berry sweet crepe - recommended by the same gal - was A-MAZ-ING!! We both agreed we should have started with THAT!! Next time!! 😜”

“Jig and Reel is a Knoxville staple. I’ve been coming here since college. The whiskey menu is extensive so if that’s your thing, this is the place. The food is shockingly good. I have always loved their fish and chips - super crispy, great fries, and homemade tartar sauce. My husband loves their scotch egg. We reserved their side room for an event recently and were so impressed. There was no fee for renting as we had about 30 people there that would be eating and ordering drinks. We were able to decorate the room to our liking (but of course took everything down afterwards). We ordered a charcuterie board and it was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Our server (can’t remember his name but he kinda looks like the DJ ‘Eliminate’) was fantastic. He was fast with orders, very observant of the room, and offered help wherever we needed. I was also happy to see that we were still treated well with it being a queer event - there was no hostility. We’ll happily have more events in the future here.”

“This is not a coffee spot but an actual factory for the company. Great mountain coffee. It is a facility that they process coffee for keurigs all over the world. It smells delicious though when you walk in if you're a coffee connoisseur I'm not sure if they can give a tour, but certainly call and email and there might be a possibility. Smells wonderful!”

“WOW! What a gem Caza Brava Mexican Restaurant is! My friend Jason was craving Mexican food to celebrate his birthday. I just googled nearest restaurant to us and this came up first. So glad we decided to give it a try! From the moment Xavier graciously and enthusiastically greeted us at the door, we had the most scrumptious meal served by our most attentive waitress, Mary Bell. What a lovely person and hard worker! Oh, right! You want to know about the food! Fantastic! Jason had nachos and I was torn between a shrimp dish and their vegetarian dish which had more and varied vegetables than you see on most Mexican restaurant menus. I asked Xavier if he could add shrimp, and he came up with a solution immediately, which turned out to be SO FLAVORFUL And the presentation was truly beautiful! I never take pictures of my food at restaurants, but last night I did! And I’ve never written a review of a restaurant, not ANY restaurant…ever. Xavier and the rest of the staff, the quality of the service, and the tastiness of the food deserves five stars plus plus plus! I’ll be bringing more of my friends here!”

“On brief vacation with my lovely wife, our hotel clerk suggested Monterrey which was close by. Visited of Friday evening and the place was packed. Many of the patrons appeared to be of Mexican descent, always a good sign of good, authentic food. We were quickly seated in a super clean, delicious smelling dining room and immediately greeted by a lovely young lady who brought us hot, fresh tortilla chips and a wonderfully tasty, fresh salsa which must have been made in house with chunks of fresh tomato and the perfect blend of chillies and herbs. We noticed that everyone was super clean and superbly efficient in doing their assigned tasks without being in the way, all the while appearing to be genuinely happy! This is a sign of an excellently managed business. A handsome, well I groomed gentleman (who I think is a part of the nuclear family who has operated this business for 35 years) stopped at our table to greet us and express his genuine appreciation for our patronage. He recommended a house specialty 'POLLO MONTERREY'. What a magnificent dish! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked chicken with spinach and some secret ingredients and spiced most excellently. Sizzling hot dancing sauces made this dish visually stunning and aromatically enticing. I cannot recommend this dish too highly. It was so delightfully good that we came back today, Saturday, for a repeat performance. This restaurant shows me how well an establishment can be operated. Nothing but excellence, unpretentious class, and the utmost in genuine customer service and satisfaction. Just so you know, my wife and I are not food critics, just common folks who appreciate being so well cared for in every respect. I forgot to mention the prices! We found the entire experience to be a tremendously good value. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. I expect you'll become regulars. We would be except that we live on Jane beautiful west (best) coast of Florida. Once again, Monterrey is in our decades long experience, right at the top of restaurants we would chose to frequent. WHEN HE BOUGHT THE ORDER HOME INSTEAD OF A LARGE GREEK SALAD THEY SENT A SMALL GREEK SALAD. I CALLED BACK TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS SMALL ORDER THAT TOOK AN HOUR TO RECIEVE AND THE MANAGER ( MAN ) TOLD ME THEN I SHOULD'VE ORDERED THRU DOOR DASH. IF THIS IS NOT THE MOST STUPID RESPONSE OF THIS MANAGERS INEPTITUDE TO RUN A BUSINESS. HE BLAMES IT ON A TOTALLY IRRELEVANT OTHER PARTY INSTEAD OF TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SERVICE PAID FOR. “Because of diabetes, I eat biscuits only after I have bloodwork done. I usually choose Cracker Barrel. The meal was as I ordered. The fried chicken breast was perfection. Biscuits were good, but could have been warmer. My only complaint is eggs were not seasoned at all and I would have to pay $1.50 to get cheese sprinkled on them. Our waitress was very nice and did what we asked of her extra.”

Place an online order for delivery Friday and had some confusion and got delayed called and spoke with someone.Got it taken care. The app showed issues the next day so I stopped in at the store and cici( I believe that was her name) Was a wonderful help. She got my order right away for me. So helpful and kind. Spoke with some of the other employees and they all seemed so nice and optimistic. Adding another photo”

“While visiting the area we stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. The service was great, the food was sublime and the atmosphere, relaxed. For an Englishman in America it was gratifying to find an Italian restaurant that actually knew what it is to be an Italian restaurant. No fakery at this place. Truly authentic with fresh made pasta, delicious herbs, and the PEI mussels were the best I have had stateside. 100% recommend to all who meander their way to this city!”

“I would like to completely redact my earlier review and offer my sincerest apologies to Partial Cafe, and to say that it is by far the best cafe in Knoxville. Someone inadvertantly hurt my feelings. I had been up for days. and was experiencing a good deal of frustration in my personal life that had nothing to do with this cafe. Everyone there is and has been extremely kind to me. despite my frequent mood swings and life difficulties caused by my own poor choices. and the bottom line is. If I want a quick cup of coffee. I should go to McDonald's or make it at home. Only I sm st fault here
I beg forgiveness. If nothing else, Partial Cafe with it's wonderful staff, is s great place in every way. I have often commented to the owner what a wonderful staff he has. And I stand by this. Simian is my favorite. With his kind eyes and fabulous way of dressing, he is a lesson in fashion. The music is great and always interesting. My lesson from all this? People with bi polar disorder should stay on their meds.”

“Passing through from TX to NC and stopped here based on reviews. Outstanding food! Chicken fried steak was perfectly cooked- not chewy or stringy like some places, but flavorful and tender. Chicken and dumplings so good like grandma makes. Mashed potatoes are real, fried okra is crisp, all fresh and homemade. Best meal we have had on the trip so far! Any future trip north will now include a stop at Sonny’s!”
