25 Best Craft Breweries in Knoxville

Ebony & Ivory Brewing Brewery •
2300 N Central St #101, Knoxville

“Support this brewery! They have great beer on tap, including their own brews as well as a few staples from other breweries. I love this place because it’s not the typical brewery crowd. When I’m there, I look around the taproom and it truly is a snapshot of the community - something you don’t see reflected in many other breweries. They host unique events and always have great food. Try and visit on a day when Tarik will be serving his North African cuisine, trust me…do it.“

“My husband buys all his wine kits here! They are in current date compared to others in Knoxville! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly! They are closed Tuesdays if this is relevant. ? We popped buy running errands and didn't realize this. We've been to other places that sell wine kits and this one is tops!“

“I've drove past this place several times on the way to other breweries in the area. I'm glad I finally stopped. Parking is a bit difficult to figure out, but just go around the block behind the place and you'll see the lot. Its worth it. The beer was great and Casey, our Beertender was great as well. He gave us some recommendations for food nearby and not a bad word was said about any of the other breweries nearby. I will return to this place!“

Last Days Of Autumn Brewing Brewery • $

“I'm glad I chose this place for a quick bite to eat and a beer. Nick the bartender learned your name and called you it throughout your visit. Being from Tampa, I ordered the Tampa Cuban and was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious. In fact, better than a lot I have had in Tampa. I will definitely make it a point to go back if I'm ever in town again.“

Elst Food Truck Brewery •

“A cozy, quiet, welcoming Taphouse. Upon entering, the barkeep welcomed us in with a nice, warm smile, immediately making me feel wanted here. I started out by getting their Fall Strawberry Sour. I tend to normally love sours but this one was quite different from what I'm used to. It was very tart and acidic. It definitely wasn't for me, but I could definitely see people liking it. Upon the defeated feeling of getting something I didn't like, I picked myself up and tried again. This time, I got a Vanilla Milkshake Ale and that one was MUCH better. It had a sweet taste, with a smooth texture, but tasting of a light beer at the same time. I'm excited to try their Chocolate Milkshake Ale eventually.I'm definitely coming back here and would recommend this place to someone who's looking for a cozy, laid back Taphouse.“

Xul Beer Company - Hardin Valley Brewery •

“If you're gonna say something is SCARY GOOD, alcohol surely qualifies. We were here Saturday night, and I'm still telling people about it Monday. I have a commoner's beer taste buds, and usually prefer Bud Light. But this brewery's offerings are nothing short of... astonishing! The Mixmaster PBJ is like drinking a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich! Not even joking, I am flabbergasted and intrigued. My son-in-law let me taste his Betty's Blueberry Cobbler. I spent the next 5 minutes trying to think up the story most likely to get him to leave the table, including who to blame for the drink's mysterious disappearance."Aliens have a tractor beam locked on your truck?" (...and a short green guy stole your drink!)or maybe,"That guy winked at your wife!" (Crap! While you beat that guy up, his pal stole your drink.)Xul guys, PLEASE don't open in Maryville. I am a responsible citizen with bills to pay. ?*Gonna add that the scary horned icon and the amazingy realistic taste of the offerings make me slightly uncomfortable... in a 'can people really sell their soul?' kinda way.“

Albright Grove Brewing Company Brewery • $

“Great atmosphere. Upstairs and downstairs seating. Upstairs has darts. Outside seating as well for those with dogs. Beer selection was decent. Tried a flight with an IPA, cellar beers, and helped. They were ok just not the best I have ever had. IPA tasted the best, could really taste the hops and grain notes. Helles was a little bland in taste. They do offer snacks. Parking behind building and is free.“

“Madi Gras was epic here. Kids made beads and masks. Just perfect. Family, single, couples or groups no matter the size this brewery caters to all. 2 rooms. Plenty of board games. TVs for your enjoyment. The best part was the mixologists. They can serve a good drink and actually care about your experience. Prices are reasonable. Their own brewery on site. Any employee you ask is so happy to answer any questions. they show that they want to work there. That says a lot for today. We will definitely make this a normal place to chill. Cheers“

“My favorite Knoxville brewery! Simple and to the point. Seating inside and outside. Right on the Tennessee River. This is not a fancy-pantsy "gastro-brewery". They have no food except sometimes a food truck. Dog friendly. Knowledgeable and nice bartenders. A few staple brews, always something new, too. Not fancy. Just. Great. Beer.“

Schulz Bräu Brewing Company Brewery • $$

“Authentic German Heritage of Product and Staff. After three and a half years of living in this area, and many visits to Schulz Bräu Brewing Company, I have become quite a fan. Having first hand experience of German region culture, Schulz Bräu is as real as it gets right here in Knoxville. And don’t miss out on the special events! The environment is a setting that places you as if you are in a village in Germany. After all, I understand the Brewmasters are actually from Germany. The list of beers are plenty and of the best you’ll experience. And food menu and prep is as authentic as the brew. Brats, schnitzel, and more.If to out perform the product and setting, the staff has to be the best part. Clad in German attire, the staff accents the environment perfectly. Everyone attending to the taps, the kitchen, the tables, are all unique in their delivery of service. All showing happiness of being there that is the best part and gems of Schulz Bräu Brewery. Whether indoors or in the outside courtyard, you are sure to enjoy this wonderful real culture German experience. Here is to the owners and staff of Schulz Bräu Brewery…Prost! Well done!!!Posted photos are from the 2nd Annual Ritterfest.“

“This is a really cool German brewery/restaurant in a building that looks like a castle. They have a regular inside part, but they also have a Bier garden part where you can order food like you're at a fair and eat outside. The food was delicious. The only real issue is that they don't have a parking lot, so finding a place on the street to park can be difficult.“

“Holy Moly! What a great meal! We had limited time to eat before we Ubered to the airport, and DGB was near our hotel. I got a Nut Brown Ale to start. Outstanding. Nice taste and not heavy. We got the half-nachos. It was as big as most other restaurants' full size, and really good. Plenty of cheese. I got the fajitas and my wife got the fajita salad. I got five large tortillas (unlike the three smalls most restaurants serve). The base was a very large plate of hot chicken, peppers and onions. Then a side dish of cheese, pico and sour cream. Then another side dish of refrieds and rice. My wife got all that plus lettuce. The perfect combination of size and taste. It was excellent! Our wait person was Bianca. She was personable, knowledgable, and helpful. They're lucky to have her. All in all, it was a really enjoyable dining experience. I wish we had known about them eartlier.“

“I sat at the bar and ordered a couple house beers, they were fine. Service at the bar was a little hit and miss. It's a real neat looking place, casual but but not grungy. The food menu had lots of options and I was prepared to be disappointed when I ordered fajitas but they were actually killer, and the portions were generous. All in all I'd gladly go here again.“
