“We're visiting Knoxville and were looking for a nice Italian meal. This place didn't disappoint. We were greeted by friendly staff and got a few suggestions. We started with cheesy bread, perfection! The dough was good with a nice chewiness, lots of cheese and garlic. I had a ham calozone and it was cooked perfectly, that great dough, real ricotta cheese and seasoning, a nice robust marina on the side. My husband had the tortellini with meat sauce and garlic bread. The pasta was the perfect. We both had the recommended tiramasu, this is the star of the show. I have never tasted such wonderful food. We each had a fountain drink and all together was only $50. Service was phenomenal. I'm sad to go home because I know I have nothing close to the quality of this place. Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. We'll be heading there again tomorrow for lunch so we can have it one more time before leaving Knoxville.“

“I highly recommend Osteria Stella for anybody seeking an authentic Italian meal experience plus a romantic, dark atmosphere. The environment, service, food and drinks are all amazing. I cannot brag on the food quality and staff enough, it was truly a fantastic experience. We loved everything we were served and our server Matt was a rockstar. The staff was very helpful and the manager even came to check on us twice to make sure everything was good. It was. There are a couple things that stood out to me that made me want to give it a 4 star.

The table we were sat at was sticky and I immediately put my arm in something and it was all over me. Definitely not cool.

There was food all over the floor. Like maybe 4 big pieces. I give it to them though cause there was a guy cleaning it up as we got there.

There was at least 2 flies buzzing around us the entire time. Almost landed on our food. Not cool.

And the last thing was the air. It might sound funny but it felt thick and not circulated. Not as big of a deal as the other 3.

Like I said I wanted to give it a 5 star. All these things can easily be fixed. The night shift needs to run a tight ship cause the morning shift is stuck cleaning it up and it looks bad when people come in at open. Kill the flies with a swatter. I'd keep an electric one in the back if it were me. And then maybe turn on the air or get an air purifier for that one room on the right as you walk in.“

“While visiting the area we stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. The service was great, the food was sublime and the atmosphere, relaxed. For an Englishman in America it was gratifying to find an Italian restaurant that actually knew what it is to be an Italian restaurant. No fakery at this place. Truly authentic with fresh made pasta, delicious herbs, and the PEI mussels were the best I have had stateside. 100% recommend to all who meander their way to this city!“

“My wife and I had lunch here this afternoon with our 7 month old daughter. I did not happen to catch the name of the waitress who served us but her service was over the top exceptional. We truly were blown away by how attentive that she was. She was more than prompt on getting us everything - bread, drinks, our food, as well as to go desert and drinks. My wife had to take our daughter out to the car because she started getting fussy due to it being her nap time and the server helped me bag everything up. The food was hot and fresh. We have zero complaints! This was a very good dining experience and we will most definitely be back! Thank you!“

“We decided to grab food here last minute. We were seated right way, brought drinks and a salad. The bread took a little longer but not that much longer. And the place was very busy. So that was understandable. Our waiter was so great. Such a great personality, checked on us regularly, and was very personable! I believe his name was Joseph, (I hope that was correct). We sat to the right when you walk in to the area with center tables on the bar side booth at the back. I hope that made sense ha! I just want the waiter to get the credit he deserves! He deserves a raise! And our food came out quickly as well. I got the shrimp and chicken carbonara and my husband got the Calabrian Steak & Shrimp Bucatini both were so great!“
