Great food and service in a quaint vintage style tea room. We got the chicken salad and stuffed potato. Both were delicious.

Apple cake tea room was a family favorite growing up. I went there this past Friday to request their spice tea for my sister's celebration of life service. I was told it would be $13 and some change per gallon mix. They asked when I could pick it up and I said Saturday. When my niece went there for lunch Saturday, they told her they didn't know what she was talking about, even though someone had written my name down Friday. But it worked out, I saved money and we got Milos tea for less than half the price of their Friendship tea.

My daughter and I went today. We call it our chick place. We have always enjoyed it, but it felt off today. None of the waitresses were smiling or very friendly. The atmosphere felt as if they were miserable. They need to add some celery or grapes to their chicken salad and get rid of those chips! For a locally owned business, one would think they would try a little harder.
Quantities were small. $12 Layered salad was small and didn't contain ingredients menu said it would...loaded potato was tiny. What a disappointment. Our bill with one iced tea, chili. 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 small potato and small salad with tax and tip was $42.

I have been coming to Apple Cake Tea Room probably since it opened. It was always a treat to come here. But not today. I had french onion soup & cheese toast. The toast was dry, hard & cold. The soup was lukewarm and had in place of traditional french bread & a variety of cheese - croutons & shredded white cheese. My friend had quiche of the day with fresh fruit along with a cup of the same french onion soup. She had the same comments about the lukewarm soup. She was unable to cut the crust of the quiche with a knife so ate the egg portion only. Even as much as I've loved the tea room in the past I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone after today.
