Do better. I used to go to this place several years ago. So I thought to take some friends there yesterday 3/25/23. I was dissatisfied, ignored by the bartender. while she and apparently the manager and his friends had a loud conversation about another employee. It was rude, negative and talking about someone else being incompetent , while ignoring patrons is very annoying. It was not busy at all.

I quit smoking about 8 months ago - stopped in BDT for a change in atmosphere. It was nice to not get hit with a cloud of smoke and not smell like an ashtray when I got home. The place is quaint and Lucinda was great!
The young waitress who was working last night was perhaps the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with. My friend and I had never been to the bar. We walked in towards the front near Kingston Pike because the door was open. We thought it was the entrance. On the door was a sign saying enter in the front. Fair enough. That said, the open door facing Kingston Pike had an entire set of keys in the lock. No one was around. I yelled inside saying hello. A short time later this young waitress came out and was indignant saying they were her keys. As a career person serving law-enforcement, I was just interested n protecting the bar from theft. I had taken the keys out of the door and when she approached me, I told her what happened. I put the keys back in the door per her request . My friend wanted to leave because she was so rude but I said let’s go have a beer. When I went upstairs, it was the same waitress. She was rude and asked for my identification. I ask why and she said they identified everyone. I am 63 years old. She didn’t ask for the identification of my friend. Before you think otherwise, my friend is a major in the military and I am a retired career prosecutor. I was yelling to get somebody’s attention downstairs and she did not come for a long period of time. It was complete negligence. We got our beers and sat down and watched this waitress remark to other customers about their poor tipping habits . In my opinion, You got a real winner employed here

Passing through town, I Googled, best Dive Bar in Knoxville. Turns out this place was right down from my hotel. The place is awesome! They have a fire pit out back where you can sit and drink your beer. And best of all, everyone there was friendly. Next time I'm in town, I'll be going back!
