The bartender was pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable! He served my partner and I several beers to taste. He really went above and beyond! If this gentleman ever gets to Massachusetts, he should let me know as he is welcomed to stop in to Start Line Brewery in Hopkinton. A great experience today!

The beer is fair at best. Great scenery inside but the food and appetizers ate a huge disappointment.

One of my favorite restaurants. Have eaten there many times. Great beer & great food. They change out their menus but their bison burger is delicious! They have brunch in the weekend. Pricing is not bad. On weekends, I would make reservations. Limited parking outside of restaurant but across the street a free parking lot too.

One of the best things about Balter is what the name means - evidently it refers to "dancing wildly and enthusiastically, instead of well" - that is my paraphrase - but kinda close. We stopped in because we were checking out a distillery and the server suggested Balter for good food. It was so good - we are now trying to figure out when we can go back. We set at the bar - kinda what we do - and enjoyed a small taste of a pilsner for me, Wayne tried a flight - good beer for sure. For lunch we totally enjoyed a reuben w/fries and a quesadilla. So very good, and the team who waited on us was exceptional.

You can’t go wrong with anything from here. Burgers, brunch, salad, tacos, beer, liquor, are all to die for. Service is always amazing, we usually sit at the bar. They have an amazing atmosphere and great layout for sitting inside or on the patio to enjoy a beautiful day. One of our top favorite places to be!!

They don't honor Yelp reservations or waitlist even though they offer it as an option.

Balter is a great place to eat and drink! Everyone absolutely loved what they ordered! There is a patio and indoor seating! It is well worth your time to try this local gem!Parking: The lot near the restaurant is not very big, but there is some street parking and an additionallot across the street.

Visited here on several occasions, think I just wanted to like this experience. Great location, enjoyable atmosphere, but just can't overlook the table service or the food. The bartenders are very attentive, but their limited to their seats. Once you're sat at a table the service is very slow and lacking. Hard to find your server when you need something unless they want to check on you. Now the food...can't honestly say I've had anything that I would brag about or rush back to have again. Some experiences were ok, but the food always took way too long and came out lukewarm. The last meal we attempted here, we had a special they had on the menu. The whole thing was stone cold, pasta was clumped, the top-end beef was way, way, way overcooked it didn't even look appetizing. Even with how hungry we were, we sent it back, finished our drinks and left. We've also tried several of their beers, which have not been bad, but not so much to our liking. Most recently, we went to have their Irish Stout, came across more like a really dark ale. While drinking it we heard several customers complaining about their food orders. Too many other local breweries that have, in my opinion, better options. Can't say I would recommend going here, but if you don't try it for yourself you won't know if you like it or not.Parking: They have parking across the street and behind the building on the hill if you can't find a space out front.

The food here is consistently good--it can get rather loud inside (especially if you go during a busy hour) so we prefer to wait for warm weather and take advantage of their beautiful patio space! We've really only had brunch here. The biscuits & gravy, chicken & waffles, and eggs Benedict are amazing. I have to imagine the lunch & dinner menus follow suit. Only thing to note is that they do get very busy and, while the service is always very kind, it can feel slow. If you go on Sat or Sun, just be prepared to be there a while!
