Excellent food and service. I had Veggie burger with fig jam, no bread and the home fries. Skip the home fries. They weren't great. However, we shared the Brussels sprouts and roasted beet salad which were both fabulous.

I work downtown and am always searching for a good lunch deal. A coworker recommended this spot! For $10 (+ $2 tip) I got a large turkey sandwich and a cup of vegan chili (soup of the day). The chili is very flavorful, especially to be vegan! The sandwich is nothing too special, but the value is hard to beat. The combo also comes with a side- I chose fruit. I’ll have to come back to dine in. The staff was very kind, and the atmosphere was cozy and old-world feeling. I loved the large oil painting behind the bar. Overall a really great spot.

From the start it was a bad experience. There's two of us eating prior to vols game and it takes them 20 minutes to bring me a beer and my buddy his coffee. They never brought my water. My buddy's a redneck and orders a regular NON toasted ham sandwich with onion rings. The food comes in good time but his sandwich was not only toasted but burnt along with the onion rings which look like they've been cooked in 2 week old oil. The waitress was nice but while ordering she tried to ask another waitress a question and the lady came back at her super disrespectful. Overall us never eat here again. The place is trash

Great little place to eat before a show at the Bijou. Kale artichoke dip with pita bread was awesome. The veggie burger with fig jam and goat cheese add on was great with a side of truffle fries. Had a couple of local draft (decent price during happy hour). Great service and a great atmosphere.

I just spoke with someone on the phone that said she was the manager. Incredibly rude and unprofessional! I don’t understand how people can get into such an important role with such poor people skills.

So... we ended up pretty far from Market Square because it was a Friday, in Fall, on a game night. This place was not very crowded so it fit the bill. All of the food was slightly above average. The food prices were decent. I think they could use more variety. I would love to see a few traditional bar foods like pizza, maybe a tenderloin, and some wings. But I get that it's not that kind of place. The drinks were also prohibitively expensive in my opinion so I didn't I just got some sweet tea, which was very good. The atmosphere was very nice. It is a clean and well organized place. It is pretty dark inside with an old vintage ambiance. They had some good jazz music playing, but unfortunately we were sitting right next to the band and it was too loud to talk. All in all, it is a great place for the vibe, especially if you can afford the drinks.

We saw the Emily Ann Roberts show on the 21st and it was terrific. Everyone at the Bijou contributed to our total enjoyment and comfort and they treated us so well. The theater is lovely and clean. I love it when a landmark is maintained and used to its fullest potential. Great sound!

I would give our service a zero if I could. When we arrived, there were only two tables occupied, so the restaurant was not busy. We were seated with our orders taken promptly. We then sat at our table for over 50 minutes while other customers came in, their orders were taken and received their food. After we did receive our food we were presented with the wrong check that was double what ours was. We were never offered an apology or any kind of compensation, just your food will be here shortly. This was our third time dining here and it will be most likely our last.

Wasn't sure what to expect. But the crowd was light and the food was absolutely delicious. Had the jambalaya and from someone who is married to a cajun, it was done very very well. Tomato-based but incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend
