Came here to have a family dinner and will NOT recommend. Besides the MOUSE that was running next to our table, the service was bad, food was forgotten and would not go back again. Very disappointing as we have gone here for years.

Visiting from Florida and decided to try this place that was close to our hotel. Order 2 shots of patron neat and please look at the picture of the weak amount that they give. I have been going to restaurants my whole life life and have never seen such a weak amount of tequila. Won’t be coming back. The manager came over and didn’t want to make it right so she just took the shots. Not the proper way to handle the situation.

We were just passing through town and found this place. Nice people, good food and reasonable prices. We had the bbq pork sandwich. One with tots, one with sweet potato fries. The river views are a really nice bonus, too.

This place was so racist the treatment! I was seated on the outside deck waiting for my food to come took so long I saw a manager pick up french fries with his bare hands and put them on the plate to serve I don't know if it was done just to get rid of black people.... But I will never in life patronize this place or any subsidiaries!!!!

The absolute worth service I’ve ever experienced. I don’t usually leave reviews but Me and my fiance walked in and waited to be acknowledged. The host finally asked us what we needed and we stated that we were there to eat and that we had never been there. She asked us if we wanted to sit on the deck or the very top. Since we had never been there we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do. She seemed very impatient and said well “there’s another host stand that way”. We said okay and walked through the another door. We were a little lost and didn’t know where to go and everyone was completely unhelpful and just ignored us. We asked one of the guys that worked there that we had previously seen in the parking lot smoking a Blount what we needed to do and his response was “I don’t know” so we ended up just leaving. This place was a joke. The managers clearly do not care about who they hire.

Hotel recommended Calhoun's for the best BBQ meal. It was a Wednesday mid afternoon, not busy. Waitress came over, no smile no hello but just a comment her shift was ending and I was her last table. So this told me I need to order and pay my bill because she was leaving soon. This was not a pleasant start. She took my order still no smile. This made me feel very unwelcome. She first dropped off my salad saying she'll bring some bread over. Then came my wine. Then shortly came my half slab. Several minutes passed and I asked her for some bread. She told me it was something you had to request. I mentioned she said she'd bring some bread over a few minutes ago. Then she told me I didn't ask for it and the menu says it's request only. Now I wasn't enjoying my meal. She was rude and unpleasant. As far as the food, Caeser salad was ok, half slab was on the dry side. The room was very cold, so my warm ribs became cold ribs. Ate only half, took the rest to go. The basket of mixed bread was to die for. Very good. Next time I'm visiting for work I'll go somewhere else.

Went here specifically to sit on the riverside patio which closed @ 9 but had multiple servers sitting on the stairs. indoor balcony was open, has a fantastic view with huge windows that open, I've been a few times when they were! Waiter said I've never seen them open, what's the point of having them? They were out of everything we ordered, server forgot out water, straws & silverware. Definitely not a fan! Food isn't that wonderful. Only there for the friends and view..well lack there of this time. Ended up leaving & eating elsewhere!
This was my first time coming to this location and everything was exceptional! Cade Huff was our server and he made the experience worth it. 10/10 would recommend.

April Price
We had seen and knew about this restaurant for years and hadn't taken the chance to eat until we were recently in Knoxville overnight. We chose to eat at Calhoun's on the River but wish we had tried somewhere else. The decor is getting old and tired. The staff is not very outgoing and the food has very little taste. I would say it was quite disappointing from what I anticipated and would guess it has gone down hill from just standing on its reputation and not revitalizing and refreshing.

The overall experience was not good. I made a simple request to cool a bottle of red wine that we were going to have with dinner. received a flat out no, we don't chill red wine. I asked for an ice bucket and some Ice out on the deck and they said No it;s too hot out here for that. We got to ordering food and it seemed they were out of more stuff than they had. I ordered the ribs my GF had the steak. My ribs were way over done and my GF's steak just tasted off. I love the spot ob the river but we won't be going back

Poor service, food was NOT good enough to finish. Four meals two appetizers and nobody finished more than half of anything it was that bad. Save your money you’ve been warned. Would not recommend will not return.
