A category of its own. Go here if you’re looking to try something new. At $3/slice it is worth the risk to try something new. The hot crispy crust and fresh toppings are the perfect combination.

Some people don’t understand it, to each their own. It’s existed since 1945 and can’t be compared to a NY style slice if that’s what you’re craving.

The gentleman working was fantastic at balancing customers and all the steps of making pizza with fresh dough. To management, I felt like he could have used a helper to give a more professional vibe. Vibe can be hard to justify economically, but having someone handling orders and running food to those enjoying the patio would be nice.

Atmosphere: Loved the DiCarlos nostalgia and decor. Store was out of Italian soda and Merchandise. I can assure you I would have done some Christmas shopping for family. Let me know when you stock back up.

The pizza is good, I would choose regular style pizza over their cold topping style. If you are buying by the slice you’ll probably want to get at least 3-4 slices. I got 2 and was disappointed, I would have ordered more but my 2 slices took a long time to prepare. The staff were not very helpful even though I told them it was my first time to DiCarlos. They were out of crushed red pepper which I thought was a little shocking for a pizza place. Every other restaurant was busy except for this one, now I know why.

Growing up in Wheeling WV, i have been eating DiCarlo's pizza since childhood . Kaz and his wife have done a great job bringing an Ohio Valley favorite to TN that taste just has good as any up north. Thank you!

This isn't just a review; it's a public service announcement for anyone in this culinary wasteland who has given up hope for decent pizza. Your search is over. The beacon of light you've been looking for is DiCarlo's Pizza on Gay Street.

Let me be perfectly clear: this is the only edible, let alone decent, pizza in this entire city. For years, I have suffered through floppy, greasy, soulless imitations of what pizza should be, like their neighbors a few doors down.

Then there's DiCarlo's. It's an entirely different category of food. The crust has the perfect structural integrity, the sauce is vibrant and fresh, and the way they aren't stingy with the cheese is lovely. It's a flavor and texture experience that other places can't even begin to comprehend, especially since the regime change at lesser establishments.

As if serving life-altering pizza wasn't enough, the entire operation is an example of excellence for how a restaurant should be run. The staff aren't just friendly; they're genuinely knowledgeable and passionate about their product. They guide you through the process with a warmth that makes you feel like you've been coming here for years.

The atmosphere is wonderful, buzzing with the energy of people who know they've found something special. And the bathrooms? Spotless. Impeccable. It speaks volumes about their standards for the entire operation.

DiCarlo's is an oasis in a city of profound culinary disappointment; they are a shining, glorious exception among mediocre neighbors. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Waited over an hour and a half before asking for a refund and left. Just about everyone else told me they waited about the same amount of time if not longer . One lady said she waited 2.5 hours

I love walking into a pizza oven! Dude MO.. needs a raise helping all customers and running entire place by himself & answering phone calls/orders on a busy concert night. I gave him extra tip$ but get him a raise or some damn AC. 💯

Amazing pizza!! After reading some negative reviews, I was apprehensive, but after my first buy I felt bad for the people who didn’t like it. Some of the best pizza I’ve had!

The food was decent. I enjoyed it, but the restaurant itself is not well put together. There was either no air conditioning or an owner that’s too cheap to run it. The staff were wildly inattentive. I looked at a man and asked where the trash can was, and he stared at me long enough for it to get uncomfortable, so I just left my trash on the counter. This is more of a preference thing, but they only have bottled drinks which is both wasteful and annoying. They really really need to do something with their staff. My friend and I were also the only people in there at like 6:30, so that’s telling. I have serious doubts this place will survive long with ownership that is giving this little effort.

Garbage worthy. 🗑 The topings were cold. Unmelted cold cheese on a pepperoni pizza?! The staff was cold too with a side of rude. Some of the worst pizzas we have ever had, even if it was crispy
