When the focaccia came out and it was cold I knew we were in trouble. I had a pasta dish with a pork, beef and veal sauce with little to no San Marzano Tomatoes.. The "meat" was about pureed, pasta a bit over done. None of us were offered any grated cheese which seemed so strange. There were no specials on a Saturday night, sad. I love Tiramisu and know every place does their own version. Hope you will like it more than I did.The server was nice and the atmosphere was good. The place was pretty full and we had no problems conversing.I see lots of great reviews for this place. Maybe too many great reviews? Tom

Unbearably underwhelming food, and pricey. Over $200 for 4 people. Everyone at the table got different pasta dishes, but they were all basically the same because they lacked flavor, and they lacked any of the other ingredients listed on the menu, except the pasta. So, a bowl of pasta, which was good, but that's not enough to make a meal, especially at a 'nice' restaurant. I have no idea how it gets good reviews. You'll notice the service and atmosphere were rated higher, but I go out for the food.Save yourself disappointment and go somewhere else.

Wonderful venue, so enjoyed our dinner. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was delightful. Our server made a wonderful recommendation on a bottle of wine. Wonderful evening, and we will return to dine again.

The food was very good even if the offerings were a bit stale; nearly all of the items on the menu were unchanged from our last visit a few years ago. The waiter, though new, was very good, and handled a difficult situation well. The same could not be said of the manager, Keith. One of our group inquired about the current steak offering and was told it was a 12-14 oz ribeye with potatoes and broccolini. For $52. Okay, at 12-14 oz, we can make two meals out of it, justifying a $52 price tag. What was delivered to the table was at most a 6 oz filet with potatoes and cabbage. When questioned, we got some push back from the manager, but after checking with the kitchen, he told us that we were right and that the chef had prepared one of the last 2 filets from the previous day’s special. The manager offered an unspecified price adjustment - to the menu price at which the filet had been offered. We expected a meaningful adjustment, knowing that filet tends to be pricier, but given the significant difference in the weight of the two offerings. (And the failure in communication between the kitchen and the waitstaff.) Instead, he knocked a measly $4 off what was a $330 bill. And then got unbelievably rude when we questioned the amount of the adjustment. I realize the restaurant business has gotten much more difficult in the last few years, but experiences like this sour me on the whole idea of “fine dining.” We won’t be back-unless the owner steps in to assure us that this experience was out of line and won’t happen again.

Our group of five had a wonderful dinner served by our outstanding waiter, John. Every dish at the table was individually excellent, with well-balanced flavoring - fresh and beautifully prepared. Our group can recommend specifically the Artichoke Fritti, Local Caprese Salad, and the Warm Castelvetrano Olives in the antipasti appetizer category. As main dishes, we just loved the Pollo ‘Al Mattone’, the Pan Roasted Sustainable Salmon, the Pork ‘Milanese’, and the Gnocchi Amatriciana. The Butterscotch Budino and Dark Chocolate Torte merit their own visit if you are just in the mood for something sweet and sublime in a pleasant, conversation-friendly atmosphere. We will return very soon.Dietary restrictions: There are at least two premium keto-friendly options on the menu (not salads.)

Our first time here was a great first impression. Our server Jerika (I probably misspelled) was awesome. The location was great for a short walk to the Bijou Theater for a show. We split two pasta dishes, the carbonara and the bolognese. Both pastas were perfect al dente and the sauces were delicious. We really liked the whole egg on the carbonara. Wine was reasonably priced and we had a nice valpolicella ripasso that was served at the proper temp. We'd gladly eat here again.

The food is just good. The ambiance is not the best. An Italian restaurant that does not serve bread is unheard of. Prices are high for the quality. Unfortunately Knoxville does not have a vast assortment.
