Went in with my family after visiting the splash pad in market square with my toddler. We had the original Rice and beans and added chicken, it was absolutely phenomenal! Lots of flavor in every bite. My girlfriend had a refreshing berry cider which we both enjoyed, while I sipped on an American stout which was just to my liking. Everything was amazing from the service, to the food, to the atmosphere. Will definitely visit again!

You can't get good cajun spice just anywhere in Knoxville. Fred Beans & Rice wont disappoint. Po'Boys, Soppin Shrimp, or my favorite, the ultimate cajun rice bowl, are all wonderful on top of one of the friendliest bar staffs in town.

My boyfriend and I had the red beans and rice with andouille and chicken which was absolutely phenomenal. The bang bang slaw was also a hit, especially with our little kiddo. We will be back for more, for sure.

Cajun food for people that have never eaten Cajun food. The blackened chicken is blackened in name only. The bowls are just a pile of slop. Nothing I had was inedible, but none of it was actual Cajun food either--it's just bar food with Cajun names.

The food looked delicious. Unfortunately, it was not. We ordered gumbo and chilli. The taste was quite boring and the prices too high. It was just hot, not well seasoned. Also it was quite strange to eat with plastic cutlery and out of a paper bowl.

The food lacked depth and flavor; it was all spice and no substance. Additionally, the customer service was subpar, further detracting from the overall experience. Sadly, I cannot recommend this establishment based on my visit.

Perhaps I'll give it another go in the future. Stay tuned for an updated review

I’ve eaten at Fred Beans and Rice multiple times and still crave it every week! Sopping Shrimp is one of my favorite dishes in Knoxville. They also have the best Cesar Wrap in town. Great spot.
