Smoked turkey and cheddar on dark all the way is my go to but everything is delicious here. Fantastic burgers, fries and everything else. Every trip to Knoxville includes a visit to Gus’s. Keep up the great work guys!

This place was 5 stars in 1986 and hasn't changed. From lunchtime till the ribeye sandwich at 2 a m I highly recommend this establishment. Great food and always had great service. I see some posts complaining about the parking and late night service but it's College town and what do you expect!!Gus good times is a tradition and your missing out on a great experience if you don't go!!!!!!

LOVE Gus's! My go-to is a (hawt & steamy) Ham & Swiss on light bread. I have to add fries, not just because, but because they are fried in LARD - yum.While the atmosphere isn't fancy and may not be 5-star to some, Gus's earns a great rating for UT memorabilia alone!

I’ve been a customer since 1987. Great things never change, and Gus’s is in that category. There is no finer sandwich than the Knoxville sandwich, and Gus’s pioneered and perfected the art. My standard order is one roast beef and smoked cheddar on long dark with mayonnaise, mustard and onions, and fries with extra seasoning. I can’t wait for my next one.

It just doesn't get any better than Gus's! The most accommodating staff and the very best food. I almost literally count down the days in between my visits from Nashville :) Pastrami and smoked cheddar on dark can't be beat, although my daughter argued her cheeseburger won the day ;)
Daughter and I traveled all day, finally felt hungry and Google'd place to eat that was open. Noticed a man sweeping when we approached the door. When we opened it he looked at us and sighed heavily. Pouted his way behind the counter and started tapping his pen on the counter. So not only were we not greeted, he seemed VERY inconvenienced he had a customer. So we decided to eat at COOKOUT. By the way, according to the hours, they were open for another 3 hours!! Didn't get to try the food because the service was horrible. Needless to say I won't ever try that place.Parking: If there's is more than 3 spaces for parking, I'm unaware.

The location and web presence are managed well under the leadership of Aaron the owner who is kind and responsive to most customers. top notch guy who runs the ship of this must-see knoxville food joint. late nights and Vol game days here are unbeatable. a tradition unlike any other for any and every UTk student!
