At a glance, the restaurant seemed nice enough. However, appearances from a distance were misleading. Our group had reserved the private dining room and the restaurant knew in advance how many guests would be attending.
The room was set for our group and nice enough but there were still dirty tables in the room (not being used for our group) from breakfast service (based on the presence of a whole strip of bacon sitting on a table).
From seating to placing our orders was 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, the food came out but five orders were missing and those five customers waited a further 30 minutes before being served.
Low marks for service. The atmosphere was nice but the dirty tables in our reserved private dining room was a definite negative. I’m not sure if I will give this place another chance. The food was good, but I don’t want to wait more than an hour and a half between seating and eating.

I will begin by saying that this was an absolutely brilliant dining experience. The food was phenomenal, the service and general hospitality was top notch and the atmosphere was laid back and casual.
I'm quite shocked by a lot of these reviews, mainly the ones that are complaining about the price. Please tell me where in Knoxville, or really most metropolitan areas, that you can get all you can eat Raw oysters, two different kinds of mussels, crab legs, smoked salmon, a variety of cold salads and the best Clam chowder this side of the Mason Dixon line for under $50 a person???
BUT WAIT!!!! Also included in that price are at least three different kinds of cooked fish, a chicken option, prime rib cooked to perfection (with or without a savory aus jus, raw horseradish or horseradish sauce), a fresh pasta station and a variety of desserts, which are also all you can eat (if you're simply greedy) and a beverage as well??? The answer is nowhere. Quit showing how utterly cheap you are while giving your review.
The service was incredible. Everyone worked as a team, our server, Gavin, was incredible on his knowledge and attentiveness without being annoying and everyone we came in concert with that worked here was incredibly friendly without being fake. Also, the buffet was constantly being refreshed the entire time we were there. Kudos to the back of the house.
The seafood buffet, all though estranged from the menu after the pandemic is a Knoxville staple and has been for decades. When I did standup in the 90s I would stay at The Radison, which is now Crown Plaza, just for the seafood buffet alone. It was $35 then (30+ years ago) and didn't have as many options as it currently does now. Not to mention, it's way better now. Again, stop complaining about the price.
Set in an incredibly nice hotel, with a lounge on the first floor, Mahogany's is a flight of stairs above with natural light from the high windows, with a decent, but obstructed view of downtown Knoxville and a semi quiet tone to the restaurant in general. Reservations are highly recommended.
In closing, outside of the house white wine, everything was pure perfection and will be a regular monthly destination for me and my wife. I highly recommend this establishment.

I like this Restaurant,The food is good and Delicious too,so are the Desserts too.
I come and eat here on Fridays few times a month.
We came in on Friday for the Seafood Buffet. Food and service was excellent. Atmosphere was great also. Not crowded, not noisy. Very enjoyable dinner with Family 😋
Excellent service
Prime rib and seafood buffet...better off going to Capt D's with a side trip to Micky D's.
Food was reminiscent of Morrisons Cafeteria and they were out of prime rib by 7:15. Knoxville has many better options around town especially for $50/person.

We had a 7:30 reservation didn't get seated until 8:00. No one came to get her drink order I had to get up and go get a waitress after another 15 minutes. Several of the food items were out and were never refilled before we left. For $100 meal for two you would expect the food to at least be available. Will not go back and will not recommend.

We ate the Friday night $50 seafood buffet. Not nearly as good as it used to be. Crab legs were barely edible. Selections for dessert were sparse. Fried shrimp not offered anymore. Too expensive for the quality and selection. And we missed the live piano music.

After reading reviews my husband and I were a little hesitant about dining especially for the price. We were pleasantly surprised. Everyone from hostess to servers were very friendly. Food was tastefully seasoned and prepared. The only suggestion is perhaps a few more seafood selections. Salmon with pesto was amazing. A little confusing entrance and exit due to construction. Would definitely return.

Went last night. We did 2 trips, first and last. After we read about this Seafood buffet we were excited and made reservations, looking forward to what we read that was listed. I didn't think shrimp could be hard and rubbery at the same time, but it can. The Raw Oysters looked sickly. Both super thin and no taste. We ask where the calamari was on buffet (since we didn't see it) and were told they didn't have any. "The calamari was hit or miss on the buffet"...Soooo, why is it listed as part of the buffet??? We both tried the prime rib...Grainy and fatty with an odd taste, at least not what I'm use to tasting, eating Prime Rib. The upside...Neither of us woke up with stomach issues. The salad and the horseradish (for the oysters) was the best thing on the buffet. The Blueberry torte was good. The price...$49.99/ each. Sorry but I've eaten better-fresher food at Ruby Tuesdays for less than half the price. This quality of food is more in liking to a Golden Corral. (sorry Golden Corral) A Grovepark Seafood Buffet, you are not!

Mother Day buffet, not in the usual restaurant, but in a conference room with too much florescent lighting. Terrible atmosphere. The service was inconsistent:Asked for hot water and got rust colored water. Asked for coffee and never got it!My wife liked the prime rib and the salmon on the salad bar. I had the cod in garlic sauce and chicken marsala. Chicken was dry and the cod was OK.The buffet was $55 per person, with an automatic tip of 20%. This was not elegant dinning, and for the $142 for two (no drinks or wine) I expected more! This was a grab and run event.Sorry, I can recommend this buffet.

Worst buffet ever. Prime rib all fat. Shrimp seemed like it had been sitting out and dried up. Chicken breast also dry. Way overpriced and NOT the price they show online. Online price shows 32.95 and my bill was 49.99 plus tax.Actually just ate there tonight. Very disappointed.
