I'm from San Diego so finding good Mexican food is like a needle in a haystack here. This place nails Mexican seafood. Cool bar and a nice restaurant worth trying.

Ate the fish tacos and they were big and delicious. Large pieces of fish. I prefer corn vs flour tortillas but they were delicious.

We traveled from Texas to Nashville TN. For our anniversary, drive us 3 hours to see places around us for 3 days, and Restáurate was the best place of all those who visited us, we will definitely return ?

It's a Mexican Seafood restaurant based mostly on the Pacific cuisine of the Mexican state of Nayarit. Lots of fresh lime ceviche choices along with other delicious seafood including shrimp, langostinos, tilapia, snapper, crab legs, lobster, octopus... The portions are good size to huge depending on what you get but the images in the menu don't do the actual food justice. It's rare the food looks better than the photos, but it does here. My only warning to folks who want to dine here would be that the language barrier is strong. I haven't met any good English speakers working there yet and outside of pointing to items you want on the menu, asking for a substitution or any other questions are not easy unless you use Google translate or are fluent or are with someone fluent in Spanish. It doesn't stop us from going back but it can be something to consider.Parking: It's in an old Perkins restaurant so the parking is exactly as it was but the entrance is now on the Kingston Pike side since the bar is where the typical entrance would have been previously.

Worst Italian we ever had ...lol, that's because it is Mexican seafood. My disclaimer: We are our own worst enemy in this review.Yes, we thought it was an Italian restaurant...so that was the first disappointment ( that is on us and has nothing to do with the actual restaurant). When we entered the establishment there was a man singing Hispanic music which was beautiful, he had a great voice. The hostess quickly sat us and gave us our menus. The menus had a LOT of pictures... of seafood and shrimp with heads and crawldads with heads and things like that so, not my cup of tea. I did see that they had shrimp empanadas so we ordered those and I was underwhelmed. We ended up splitting fajitas and while they were okay, the portion of guacamole and sour cream and things like that were so small that we couldn't really share the toppings.Like I said, not my cup of tea but, maybe yours!

Didn't take cards, only cash. Also, once we got cash, they wouldn't serve my party extra drinks even thought it wasn't time to close yet.

My mom and I each got the shrimp fajitas from the TexMex menu section. Most of the menu appeared to be for bigger parties of hungry folks. Not finding many smaller plate entrees from browsing that menu. We managed since I do speak a little bit of Spanish. They had a karaoke performer roaming around for entertainment on Saturday night. I admit the shrimp fajitas are as good as available from a bigger city. Excellent presentation. They also offer seafood Ceviche tostada in place of the regular chips n salsa as a starter while you browse the menu. My menu had some greasy residue. My mom wanted hot water, but they only had Ice water. The waitress gave us the bill, but then was gone from our aisle for a long time while we waited to get the credit card to her. My mom saw other customers pay up front, to we decided to pay there instead of waiting for the waitress to come back. English / Spanish , and the loud music made it a bit harder to get the right service from our waitress, but hand signals and pointing at pictures on the menu got us through the dinner event. A gentleman behind the cashier did get us a bag for our take home box before I figured out who to ask. The staff appear to be alert for visual queues to help out the guests.
