I went to the the Nixon's Deli on508 Merchant Dr. for lunch. I am only in Knoxville for 2 days, but I had a craving for a Tuna Sub. So I Google "Sandwich shops near me" and Nixons was the only local non-chain spot that popped up. So I get there and all I really know, is I want a Tuna sub. The lady behind the counter was SOOOO sweet and patient with me. She even made a suggestion to warm my bread (which was a GREAT suggestion because it turned out so good). Anywooo, I get my food and you never really know if you are gonna like someone else's Tuna until you try it. Guess what???? IT WAS FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! If my mama was there I would have slapped her!!!! Great Customer Service and Great Food. What a winning combination. Thanks Nixons Deli. See you next time.

My poor boy sun and smokehouse pairado salad was soooo good! Next time, I won’t have tomatos on it because they made it a little soggy on the edges; I peeled that part off. The tomatoes were better on the side and everything was delicious! I’ll be back at one of the locations for another one while I’m still in town!! ?

One of the last surviving actual FANTASTIC places to eat! Fresh ingredients, the BEST steamed hoagies, (I get mine double steamed because I really love that good moist sandwich!) and the customer service is top notch! They really all are the salt of the earth! Also, oh my goodness don’t get me started on their desserts! The banana pudding is my favorite and I absolutely have to have it when we go! Do yourself a favor and go get you some quality food there! 100/10! Will always come back here!Parking: They have plenty of parking for the establishment!

I had not been in Nixon’s deli in years. My sandwich was delicious and I will be back to get it again! The kitchen area looked clean even the eating area looked clean. But their collection of plants is not appealing to me. Maybe to other people but it just made the place a bit dirty looking! Food was good and service was good either way kind patient staff!!!

Yesterday two coworkers and myself went for lunch, and while there we were looking at the plants, as we were told previously they were for sale , i picked up a really pretty flower as i was looking for a price because i wanted to but the flower. Thats when all went crazy, an older lady begind the counter was cussing me and my coworkers under her breath or so she thought, the whole resturaunt heard her doing this. So we left, because she was making such a big deal about it. I get back to work and call Nixons to speak with the manager Amy, she gets on the phone and is very rude when i tell her about the situation and explain it was very unprofessional. she proceeds to tell me im not here to talk about plants, im here to discuss food. She was verh rude and hung up on me. I love Nixons Deli, but i will not be returning to the one on Merchanys road. The staff is very rude and unprofessional.

Tons of succulents! Love the atmosphere.On to the food, I tried them out of spite to subway. Food is great! I got two cold subs expecting to eat both and could barely eat half of one. Ima be eating for ever it feels like. As someone who is in the culinary world, degree and tons of experience. Bread is great. Pickles was great pepperoncini great. Just over all a good experience.The staff was nice.Food was prepped rather quickly, didn't even have time to doom scroll in my phone before it was ready. 100% recommended to my friends.Meats was really nice, not to thick but not thin enough to fall apart.Tomatoes was good too, and I despise thick cut tomatoes which is to not say they was thick but I like paper thin but the tomatoes had great texture and flavor. I legit really like their food.

This is a Knoxville staple that has stood the test of time. They have all the classic deli sandwiches and some fantastic desserts and sides. For anyone traveling through town, this is a great stop if you are in the mood for a deli sandwich and also if you live here, too. LoL.Some of my favorites are Ruben on rye (sub spicy mustard), steak on wheat with provolone, bannana pepper, mushrooms, onions and A-1 sauce and the meatball on white with provolone. I also really like the pasta and potato salads. I'm sure they will make an excellent version of your favorite deli sandwich and they do steamed sandwiches, which is a fairly unique and wonderful thing for the right sandwiches.Kid-friendliness: They have a game room/arcade for the kids.
