Wonderful coffee served in a cozy cool atmosphere with the most amazing pastries delivered daily that are worth every calorie! The service is unbelievably friendly and if you come often, you'll feel like a friend every time you enter. Highly recommend!

Parking: Street parking is available but limited however there is a free parking lot about one block away and a paid lot approximately half a block away.

Kid-friendliness: Although this tends to be a quieter spot people frequently bring kids in and there's also a small outdoor seating area located in acute alleyway that has bistro tables. I picture this as a cute cozy place to come in and have a drink and maybe play a board game with a kiddo who might enjoy sitting and having a sweet treat!

I went here all the time in college and have tried many other places since moving. Nothing compares. This place is the whole package. Amazing atomosphere (seriously the atmosphere makes me so happy) for studying or meeting a friend. The best espresso drinks: their cappuccino is my favorite cappuccino ever. Their mocha has the perfect level of sweetness. Even their teas are good loose leaf tea! Not to mention the delicious pastries too :) I come back everytime I visit Knoxville! I love you forever Old City Java <3 <3 <3

The reason they didn't get a 5 star is cause no one is perfect...but they're damn close. The tea was great, my cousin enjoyed his coffee, and the young people there were cool and NOT annoying. Keep up the good work. They should get different outside chairs though, they seemed kind of flimsy at first glance

This is a nice, cozy café in the old city section of Knoxville. If you can find a table, it is quite comfortable with good background music. We had a breve, which was good, and two pour overs, which were OK, but nothing to write home about. Also the croissants are good, and probably other bakery products but we did not try them. Unfortunately, they're half-and-half was sour, and wanted to discover this I asked them for a new container, which also was sour. I did have significant gastrointestinal distress an hour or two later. they really need to get on top of this, and probably also upgrade the quality of their coffee for pour overs.

We enjoy stopping here for a special breakfast date. Well crafted coffee drinks and good pastry options with a generally quiet environment.

Be mindful parking is minimal and generally requires payment.

What a delightful morning at Old City Java! The cozy atmosphere, paired with the gentle rain outside, created the perfect ambiance for a productive morning. The coffee was expertly brewed, rich and flavorful, and the raspberry oat scone was a delectable treat. But what truly set this experience apart was the exceptional customer service. Sara, noticing I had a stevia packet in hand, went out of her way to ask if I wanted it added to my latte. This small gesture made a big difference and showed a level of attention to detail that is truly commendable. Thank you, Old City Java, for providing such a wonderful experience! I'll definitely be back.

It is a very cool atmosphere and great coffee! However, it was difficult to bring our baby as there is no diaper changing station in the bathroom. We sat outside because the weather was very nice, but the inside is also very cute!

Kid-friendliness: There is no diaper changing station in the bathroom.
