Excellent coffee shop with top notch pastries from Wild Love Bakehouse (same owners). Best croissant I’ve ever had in any country including France!
Long-time beloved coffee shop! They have some amazing teas, as well. Highly recommend the turmeric ginger herbal … perfect complex blend and strength.
Best coffee shop in town.
Nice latte
Excellent homemade pastries
Excellent espresso and pastries. Leave enough time during mornings for their service--the staff is efficient, but there can be a lot of customers for them to handle.
Love this coffee spot! Had the best latte and almond croissant such a cute location the outside seating is fun! Very friendly baristas!
The perfect coffee house atmosphere. They feature Counter Culture coffee, pastries, and a varierty of grab and go beverages (kombucha, water, etc). Indoor and outdoor seating.
Charming little coffee shop! A definite must if family is visiting. I loooove their Houjicha Latte! I haven't heard of any other coffee shops with this special, so make sure you stop by and try it out (:
Wonderful coffee served in a cozy cool atmosphere with the most amazing pastries delivered daily that are worth every calorie! The service is unbelievably friendly and if you come often, you'll feel like a friend every time you enter. Highly recommend!
Parking: Street parking is available but limited however there is a free parking lot about one block away and a paid lot approximately half a block away.
Kid-friendliness: Although this tends to be a quieter spot people frequently bring kids in and there's also a small outdoor seating area located in acute alleyway that has bistro tables. I picture this as a cute cozy place to come in and have a drink and maybe play a board game with a kiddo who might enjoy sitting and having a sweet treat!

I went here all the time in college and have tried many other places since moving. Nothing compares. This place is the whole package. Amazing atomosphere (seriously the atmosphere makes me so happy) for studying or meeting a friend. The best espresso drinks: their cappuccino is my favorite cappuccino ever. Their mocha has the perfect level of sweetness. Even their teas are good loose leaf tea! Not to mention the delicious pastries too :) I come back everytime I visit Knoxville! I love you forever Old City Java <3 <3 <3

The reason they didn't get a 5 star is cause no one is perfect...but they're damn close. The tea was great, my cousin enjoyed his coffee, and the young people there were cool and NOT annoying. Keep up the good work. They should get different outside chairs though, they seemed kind of flimsy at first glance

This is a nice, cozy café in the old city section of Knoxville. If you can find a table, it is quite comfortable with good background music. We had a breve, which was good, and two pour overs, which were OK, but nothing to write home about. Also the croissants are good, and probably other bakery products but we did not try them. Unfortunately, they're half-and-half was sour, and wanted to discover this I asked them for a new container, which also was sour. I did have significant gastrointestinal distress an hour or two later. they really need to get on top of this, and probably also upgrade the quality of their coffee for pour overs.

We enjoy stopping here for a special breakfast date. Well crafted coffee drinks and good pastry options with a generally quiet environment.
Be mindful parking is minimal and generally requires payment.
