Me and all of my foodie friends all agree this is the BEST restaurant in Knoxville hands down. With a food and cocktail menu that rotates seasonally, this amazing dining spot never ever gets old. Definitely reservation required unless you snag a spot at the bar. There is no hope of walking in on any night of the week without a reservation and getting a table. Which just hammers home how good this place is. Every time the menu changes we have to make sure we see what they have to offer. Never once been disappointed. One time they brought me the wrong drink but it was better than what I had even ordered and they still brought me the correct one. Great service! The hostess is always so kind. The bartenders are great at mixing up something off menu for you. If you don’t go anywhere else in Knoxville, make sure you go to The Oliver.

The Oliver is the worse at picking up the phone. For two weeks I tried calling during their businesses hours to see what was on their Christmas menu. When I finally got a hold of them today I was informed they were already booked and also refused to tell me what was on the Christmas menu despite me mentioning I have food allergies. The woman on the phone was incredibly condescending. Will never return to spend my money here and will be advising fellow Knoxville residents to avoid this place like the plague.
Awesome pork chops, shrimp n grits, filet mignon, desserts and of course their whiskeys!

Thanksgiving dinner at Oliver Royale: •Food was good •Menu clearly stated “20% gratuity added for parties of 6 or more” •Just my wife and me •Check had 20% tip surreptitiously added with an additional line for “Tip” •I brought it to the server’s attention; she feigned ignorance •Clearly dishonest
YALL! This is a wonderful restaurant! Sooo yummy
I has the salmon and it has an apple radish slaw on the side that was so crisp and fresh
Salmon was cooked perfectly!
We sat at the bar and had the best bartender/server ever, Feng, she was wonderful.
Eric had the burger with truffle fries and WOW!
So glad we got to come here!

Oliver Royale was the perfect place for my wife and I to share a brunch with family after our courthouse wedding! The best atmosphere and delicious meal. They even allowed us to store and serve our wedding cake. 10/10 recommend!

Oliver Royale blew me away! Without a doubt, the best escargot I’ve ever had in my life. The seared scallops were divine. Fantastic wine selection. Cocktails on point. The bartenders were incredibly kind and attentive. I live in Nashville, and I will gladly drive to Knoxville just to eat there. Book with confidence.

Overall, I’d rate my experience a 3 out of 5, but the food alone deserves a solid 5 stars. My family had reserved a table for three in advance and specifically requested seating on the patio. When we arrived, we were told the outdoor tables were being held for other guests, which was disappointing. The atmosphere inside was nice, but much louder than we expected. It was hard to hear each other across the table. Despite that, the food was outstanding. Everything was full of flavor, and I nearly cleaned my plate. Overall, a bit of an odd experience, but the food definitely made up for it.

Our dinner was delicious with attentive service in an elegant dining room. This restaurant of the historic Oliver Hotel matches the charm of the hotel and delivers a special dining experience. We both loved our dishes from the new fall menu. Vegetarian bucatini dish offered complex flavors and textures while the short rib confit on a bed of purée cornmeal with bacon collard greens was outstanding.
This place had top quality food and service. Our waiter, Andrew, was very engaging and helpful in recommending top local spots to visit. The drinks were unique and well prepared. I highly recommend a visit when in Knoxville. It would be best to make reservations, but we were able to get a table without one.

We enjoyed our first experience enough to return, and enjoyed that experience just as much. There is nothing bad we could say.

I asked a lady outside if this place was open and she said very rudely “no, we open at 4”.. checked the clock and it was 356. Im not trying to beat down your door and in fact walked away but why be rude??

Are there Sunday night. Unfortunately I got a bad food poisoning from their salmon. I’ve been on medications now for a couple days to try and stop the symptoms… the dish as a whole was also extremely spicy and lacked all flavor otherwise… no salt no lemon … just tons and tons of spice .
Now got terrible case of inflammation and haven’t been able to keep any other food in my stomach for days now…. Shame.
My husband had the burger and that was fine though . So maybe it’s just their fish or maybe the cook that day didn’t clean it properly ..
the place itself seemed cute overall , although completely empty (maybe that’s why?) . We stayed at the Oliver hotel so we thought it would be convenient to just order from them. We won’t do it again.

Oliver Royale delivers a beautiful dining experience overall. The ambiance, the food, and especially the cocktails were absolutely outstanding. The bartenders deserve serious recognition—they crafted one of the best Mezcal Last Words I’ve had all year. Balanced, smoky, and full of flavor.
We tried several dishes across the menu, and every single one was a hit. Not a single bite disappointed. It’s rare to find a restaurant where you can close your eyes, point to anything, and love it—but this place nails it.
The only downside? The hostess who checked us in was a bit short and unwelcoming—until she realized we had a service animal with us. Even then, she remained curt and sat us somewhat dismissively. Thankfully, that was the only negative part of the experience.
Once seated, the evening turned into a five-star experience—thanks to the phenomenal bar staff and kitchen. Highly recommend dining here if you're in Knoxville. Just hope the host stand catches up to the level of the rest of the team.
