We were going to sit outside but we were told we couldn’t put two tables together bc separated they make more money. Food combo was awful. I got the waffles and chicken. Wanted regular syrup but was told all they had was a cayenne pepper blend. When I asked for regular syrup one person did yes but then quickly said he’d have to ask the owner. The server was asked as well and, again, she had to ask the owner. We were a large party and half of us didn’t like our brunch. The owner micromanages her staff and her customers. Being different is great but being difficult is not customer friendly. I give her a year before it is forced to close.

Horrible. if you want something that does not taste well together do not come here. They could even provide regular syrup since the syrup pls cayenne pepper was too hot. Everything was No and it seems the owner is too controlling. Definitely will not return.

We used to frequent Simpl, and I'm not sure why our past few visits have not been great. Our most recent visit, the bread our meal was served on was stale, and the fries were undercooked. They were out of ketchup and offered the ailoi as an alternative but charged for it. We sat at the bar -- There were small ants crawling across it throughout our meal, and when we brought it up to the bartender, they didn't do anything - didn't wipe the bar down, didn't investigate the issue. So, we were left to smush them ourselves as they crawled near our food. Our $12 drinks were watered down and didn't taste like much of anything. It's honestly the worst old fashioned I've ever had. I'm bummed, because we've visited Simpl alot over the past year and a half, and I understand having a bad night once in a while, but it's just seemed to go downhill the past several months. Our visit prior, our food was served cold. I really hope they can figure things out.

Food was good mostly. Waffles were over cooked. Kitchen was off. Appetizer came with meal. One meal came 15 minutes after most of the table was done eating. Waiter was great. Rude person delivered late appetizer. Probably won’t go back.

Simpl is a diamond in the rough. The food and service are incredible and always consistently delicious. The atmosphere and ambiance are lovely as well. Very delightful vibe in the beautiful area of SoKno.

Love this place! Food is excellent, service is always spot on. Finally decided to leave a review after hearing the Karen at the table beside me giving the server so much grief about everything and saying she was going to leave a negative google review! Highly recommend this place if you like good food and a chill atmosphere!

This was our first visit. It opened in 2019 and is located in the Sevier District. (very trendy area). It is next to the Alliance Brewery. It has a rotating menu based on local and seasonal ingredients. Went with five other adult family members on a Saturday night. We sat in the "Garage" area. We enjoyed the appetizers garlic parm fries and smoked wings. The entrees were the House Burger (served with fries, aioli on a paysan bun) , the Shrimp & grits, Black BeanBurger with chili fries, Lemon Shrimp Alfredo, and the Mojo Pork Tostada. The latter was a very impressive presentation done by Brittany. Our server (Hattie) was very attentive. They have a large variety of cocktails, wine and craft beers.

I recommend getting a reservation as seating is very limited. I went for brunch on Sunday and the food was excellent. No problems with the service either. Easy to navigate if you have a wheelchair or mobility aid. The seats are those terribly uncomfortable metal chairs so many places use and they are super unforgiving if you are a big person.I got the breakfast burrito (pictured) and the garlic parm potatoes and they were both incredible. Will go again.

I went here recently to have brunch and the food was pretty good. The reason I give it two stars is because there are several things that made it feel as though it’s just not worth going to. The girl at the entrance acts a bit stuck up and like she rather be somewhere else. The server we got was a guy and he made things worse. He would take way too long for everything and at one point when I asked him for more sparkling water with lime, the guy went to talk to the people at another table to ask them if he could go pet their dog who was tied up outside. The guy went and pet the dog and he clearly wasn’t aware of how clean he was being since the next thing he did was go and grab my drink with the lime, without washing his hands. I love dogs as much as the next person but, when you’re working at a restaurant of all places. If you think your customers aren’t noticing how unsanitary you’re being; you’re wrong. I didn’t say anything at the moment because I was just focusing on having a good day and not getting upset. However, that wasn’t okay and I could’ve easily reported that to the health department.

Very nice little restaurant on the south side of Knoxville. Similar to farm to table in that menu changed based on local availability of items. Son had the shrimp and grits, daughter in law had a shrimp paste dish, my wife had moho tacos (spicy) and I had the burger. Everything was very good, as well as the awesome parm fry appetizer. Staff was great and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely return.

They must of had an off night when we were there. They got the drink order wrong, put cheese on tacos that were ordered dairy free, and served a raw/blue steak that was inedible. They corrected the drink and tacos and attempted to fix the steak but it still came out very rare instead of medium rare. The brussel sprouts and loaded fries were really good!! I'd be happy to go back but I wouldn't order the steak.

Our favorite date night place. The service is attentive but not fussy. The menu is small and well thought out. If you haven’t gotten a chance to try it, the happy hour alone is a good reason to go! We ordered a smoked turkey for thanksgiving and it was AMAZING!

Simpl is simply outstanding! The appetizer, entree and dessert were all delicious. The veggie plate with garlic sauce and spicy pimento cheese were my absolute favorites. The cumin beef noodle bowl was superb. The spice blended perfectly with the beef and noodles. The lemon pound cake with the bourbon caramel was divine.Chef Kendale and staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large party. Exemplary service and attention to detail. What a splendid evening!I will definitely return in the near future.

Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options were delicious.

Dietary restrictions: Chef Kendale makes every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions.

What a treat! This restaurant has lovely ambiance, fun styling and knowledgeable front of the house staff. The cocktail menu is divine, the service is prompt and just attentive enough. But the real win is the amazing chef driven menu featuring local, seasonal items intentionally selected and prepared. We started with grilled vegetables on a garlic purée, toasted house made focaccia, chipotle pimento cheese (unlike any pimento cheese I’ve had before). Each bite was full flavor. The veggies were tender crisp, I could have just had a plate of the garlic sauce! The focaccia was spongy and light. The pimento cheese was that amazing type of spicy, enough to notice but not so much that it got in the way of the other flavors.Next we had the cumin beef noodles… the chef was not kidding as he explained his endless quest to perfect the recipe. Umami flavor bomb, high quality local beef, handmade noodles, great heat balanced with delicate aromatics. It was truly unlike anything I’d had before. Then there was dessert. Lemon pound cake with bourbon dark brown sugar caramel. The cake was moist and tender, subtly citrus and perfectly paired with a velvety sauce I want on everything now! This place is phenomenal! Go!

Vegetarian options: 3 vegetarians at our table were able to eat a full meal and enjoyed their options.

Kid-friendliness: The owners had their baby with them, pretty sure that counts as kid friendly!

Parking: Plenty of street parking and a lot.
