SouthSide Garage is your Mecca for the summer. They have so much outdoor space that you can always find a spot to sit. They have tons of outdoor games to play and their indoor garage space is as nicely shaded as the outside. They have a full bar, which is a nice change to the “brewery row” thanks to places like HiWire and Alliance, giving visitors an option for something other than just beer. Yes you can get Kombucha- but you can get it spiked too.
They have done a great job working with local food trucks to have some amazing food options and they do rotate. The space is kid and pet friendly. I’ve enjoyed bocce tournaments here as well as the pop-up makers market that comes through in the summer. It’s a great stop along the South Knox walkway area so give it a try.
Parking: Parking is completely on the street. But it is free.
Kid-friendliness: It’s a good spot to take kids since the outdoor area is wide open.
Wheelchair accessibility: The main garage area is flat concrete and easily accessible. The back area is gravel and may be tricky to maneuver.

Food truck Dia De Food truck with the awesome food again, but the Southside Garage bar with the fail. Bartender more interested in his phone or regulars to miss my wife wanting another beer, which we would have stayed for more to watch the Vol’s game, but no beer no stay. May want to train your staff to survey the bar area more than their phones.

this was an impulse stop for myself and the wife to get a quick sandwich for lunch the special chicken was out of this world and the smashed potatoes were the bomb!!!! we loved it all try it for yourself!!!!!

First, let me just say, the food truck is absolutely delicious and the people who run it are very friendly and welcoming,. The "bar" however is not a place that I would ever want to visit again. From the beginning of our visit, the bartender barely spoke to us, made no eye contact, and made us feel like it was a bother just to serve us some drinks. The drinks, by the way, were horrible and totally overpriced. We paid $28 for 2 Raspberry Lemonades that tasted like they came out of can from the local gas station. That is actually putting it nicely. Overall, I was not at all impressed with the bar and will definitely only be going there to get food and take it home to eat.
Parking: Lots of parking in a lot right next door.
Kid-friendliness: Not at all kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: Gravel parking lot and tables that are pretty close together. Not ideal for a wheelchair in my opinion.
