Good fries, but the veggie burger lacked flavor. Both my boyfriend and I had the plant based space head sandwich and we were both disappointed. We love tomato head and will always support restaurants with plant based options, but it definitely needs some work. And it's pretty expensive for what you get. If there was another side option that wasn't $3 extra like the fries, I think that'd make it a better option.

What can I say about Space Head, just incredible.

I think the concept is really clever and the chicken sandwiches are amazing. I'm three visits in and I still find that the fries could be a little more flavorful. Work on the paint smell, it is quite strong and I think you've got a real contender for a fast service Market Square staple.

They make a great beet “burger” and I liked that I could get it as a lettuce wrap too! Everyone was super friendly; it was a great meal and experience.

My first experience was not a pleasant one. The man who took our order did not have a pleasant attitude- he was a bit rude. He didn't explain himself very well and over charged us for an extra order of fries we didn't order.

Came to visit another join with vegan options. Got the plant based burger. The cashew mayo tasted like melt vanilla ice cream. The beet burger was extremely soggy. I will not be coming back ever

As someone who had enjoyed many a meal at the tomato head; I expected so much more from space head. My biggest gripe is that the food was uninspiring. I had the Asian chicken. The fried chicken lacked flavor and crumbled. The bun was actually disappointing too. Given that I had enjoyed Flour Head bakery buns at restaurants all around town. The menu was also somewhat of a let down. I get opening a chicken sandwich restaurant but why should everything available be fried? They have a good size kitchen that should be able to cook up a tasty grilled chicken. They have no gluten free bun (which is also shocking since THEIR bakery makes the best gluten free bun available in Knoxville). Just really odd since their sister restaurant is one of the places one can get a really healthy meal. The price was also not great for the quality of the food. I didn't have French fries solely because I didn't want to pay an additional $3 on top of my $9 sandwich. I would not have complained about the price if the sandwich had blown my socks off. I would absolutely never be returning here.

Had an amazing chicken sandwich here, outside with crispy, inside was juicy, all the veggies on the sandwich were fresh. There was an interesting sauce on it that I enjoyed, a nice change from just the typical ma. It's a great option for a quick lunch if you work downtown. The fries were pretty good too, fresh and crispy, though they could have used a little more salt or other seasoning. *UPDATE* went back yesterday and fries had more seasoning! Also they honey mustard is amazing!

Just had the tastiest fried chicken sandwich I've had in years, and it didn't even have any mayo on it! I'm having trouble putting words together for this first experience, so I'll be brief: Service is fast and soooper friendly; the menu is limited but oh, that makes it easier to make a decision (I have trouble with that); the chicken on the sandwich is thick, crisply breaded, juicy, and dredged in something spicy but not so spicy that I can't handle it (and I am a huge weenie when it comes to hot-and-spicy things); the fries are DIVINE; get the Green Goddess sauce to dip the fries in; the bun is so fresh and poofy and delicious, it's kinda crazy; the freakin' housemade pickles are insanely crisp and fresh and tasty with kind of a middle-eastern flavor vibe goin' on; and the prices are kind of what you have to expect in downtown Knoxville now. This ain't a cheapo chicken sammitch. It's worth the nine bucks. In my honest opinion. Your mileage may vary. I can't wait to go back. I can't wait to take my family. I hope my sister comes to town so I can take her there. You don't have to like it, but I hope you try it.

Ate here last night and got a veggie burger and fries. The fries were average but could have been seasoned better. The burger had a decent texture but I did not enjoy the taste of the beet patty at all. I maybe ate 1/2 and threw the rest away. The real problem is that I woke up with a pit in my stomach and have not been able to eat all of today without sharp stomach pains. I do not have any known food allergies so I am concerned that my burger was either contaminated with something related to the chicken in the restaurant or some other food borne bug. Maybe others will like the burgers better and I cannot speak for the chicken sandwiches, but beware that I have been sick the entire day after eating there.

Space head opened three days prior to this review, so hopefully things turn around for them. That being said: The place has an overwhelming smell of paint. So much that I chose to sit outside on a hot day. I actually feel bad for the staff having to be stuck inside with those fumes, it legitimately seems unhealthy. Paint fumes aside, I was offered a drink while placing my order, but I wasn't informed that all the sodas were unavailable so I paid $3 for water (to be fair there is sweetened and unsweetened iced tea available). I had a chicken sandwich, fries and water. The sandwich was a mix between well cooked fried chicken with a tangy sauce, but the veggies didn't mix particularly well with the flavor of the sauce (the veggies felt crisp, but bland). The fries were well done, but lacked seasoning. A bit of salt is used on the fries, but that was it. So if you're into very simple fries, this could be right up your alley. I had honey mustard sauce that felt more like honey than honey mustard (not in texture, the sauce is creamy and blended well, but the flavor was far too sweet for my tastes). The service was friendly, but they're stuck in a building with u healthy paint fumes, and will take your money without informing you of things are out of service. I left disappointed and hungry.

Just tried the coconut soft serve ice cream and it was the best I've ever had! Amazingly delicious!!

Imagine Tomato Head with counter service and a deep fryer. That's exactly what Space Head is. The menu consists of several variations of a fried chicken sandwich and a few vegan beet burger alternatives. Major kudos for offering everything in a lettuce wrap upon request. They are also transparent about what is vegan or vegetarian and what isn't. They have great French fries, which have the *best* seasoning, and coconut milk ice cream. In contrast to Tomato Head, service was prompt, and they came around to offer a free sample of their ice cream. I had the Tunisian, which is a beet burger topped with lots of garden and a tasty vegan sauce. My dining companion had one of the chicken sandwiches. We both enjoyed our lunch and would return. I think they hold promise for quick to go orders because they have an option to use a self-order kiosk and will text you when your order is ready. We went on their first day of business, and it wasn't super crowded. I'd say that will change within a week. I gave them four stars for a great showing out of the gate. It would take a broader menu (esp. salads) for me to give up that fifth star, but perhaps they will add to the menu as they get the business up and running.
