Our new favorite Indian place! Some of the local Indian restaurants have started microwaving their bread, this place had fresh Aloo paratha! Flavor. Profile of the korma was excellent! Friendly and accommodating of diverse dietary needs.
Dietary restrictions: They made us a chai tea with coconut milk instead of cows milk. Excellent.

So so so good, it was my first time here and it was so nice, loved the people working here and they were so fast and had some of the best customer service i’ve had in knoxville. 10/10 butter chicken and I will definitely go back again!!

Just had this for the first time tonight! The service was incredible! Everyone was so nice and quick to help. Food came out fairly quick and came out fresh and very authentic! Would recommend to anybody and will be coming back here for sure!

Recently went and was hoping the food would be better than the previous time I went because I noticed the quality was inconsistent. I always order the same thing ( masala) so I know. It was terrible. I told the server and he suggested trying something else so I did and it was even worse. Why was the vindaloo sweet? Why did it remind me of tomato sauce? I told the server again and then the manager came out and was very condescending and confrontational. He said the recipes changed because they got a new cook. He left saying well you don’t have to pay for what you didn’t like. Enjoy the rest of your meal. Even if I liked the food I wouldn’t go somewhere that talked to me like that.

We had lunch here. Ordered an appetizer (cheese pakora), mango lassi, different types of breads (aloo parathas, tandoori roti and garlic naan), mutton bhuna, chicken tandoori and gulab jamun for dessert. The appetizer was pretty bland. All types of breads were excessively oily. Lamb curry tasted better amongst all. Chicken could taste better. The food was average standard. Expected better taste and flavour.

I thought I read on Google Reviews that this restaurant had a buffet, so I was excited to give it a try.
Sadly, this is not the case, so I immediately left today before giving the restaurant a try.
I sincerely believe this is the reason Bombay Palace at this same location did not do well after reopening during the pandemic; they had the equipment, but never brought the buffet back.
I was dismayed to see that Taj Bistro appears to have gotten rid of the buffet table, so I don't believe I will be giving them another try anytime soon.

Disgusting! Scored a 64 on their health rating, which is a FAIL. No handwashing or even any soap available in the restaurant, various other health violations. Do not spend money at places that make our people sick. Time to hold these restaurants accountable
