We had always said we would only leave positive reviews of the great places we've truly enjoyed. This is the experience that completely changed our reasoning on that. People need to be aware of what they are getting. For context, we've dined at CotC a bunch of times over the years before COVID, We know what they are capable of (like you see in the older food photos here.) Unfortunately, the menu is a shell of it's former self, but let's start at the beginning so you can understand the experience and how much things have changed. We walked up past a young man tending to the outdoor grill. It smelled pretty good, so why not. Upon entering a menu board listing bbq pork, coleslaw, beans, and potato salad, all sounded great. The hostess did inform us that they operate on a limited menu now, and only have three entrees. With a $19.95 price for a BBQ plate and three sides, we were expecting decent size portions, and decided to split those two plates for our party of three. However, what arrived at the table was certainly less than what was expected. One tiny scoop of coleslaw next to another tiny scoop of potato salad, small scoop of mac&cheese and one plate had baked beans. On both plates we received a chicken breast with bbq sauce on it. We quickly found out that none of the hot food was anywhere close to hot. The chicken definitely never made it to the outdoor grill (bbq), which would have gave it those nice grill marks. Our nice waitress apologized and said she might be at fault... which she wasn't. Yesterday's menu board of bbq pork should have been removed at opening, by a manger or the owner. Actually, we would have been fine with the chicken had it not been served cold. It was probably precooked , It was not anywhere near the proper holding temp. The m&c was cold and beans were slightly warmer, but no where near hot. That should have been our red flag to leave, since chicken is nothing to leave to chance. So we sent it back, and another employee apologized and said they would get it fixed. Some time passed and another employee brought two plates to the table. Now the mac&cheese was hot and pretty tasty. The beans were fine. The potato salad and coleslaw tasted like anything you would find in the grocery store. The chicken, however, was lukewarm. This was the second red flag, and we should have asked for the manager/owner at that point. We were very hungry, and the chicken looked like it had been cooked through, probably a few hours earlier. So, we ate it. Based on the food we decided to skip dessert, pay up and leave. The check arrived, completely at the original price of $43 for an experience that doesn't come anywhere close. More time passes, and the owner finally comes out of the kitchen to check on a few things and casually asking how our meal was. We told her that the hot food wasn't hot and had to be sent back only to arrive warm the second time. Her comment was"Oh I know, and I'm sorry we only have one person back there." However, there were two in the kitchen, one on the grill, and three or four waitstaff with maybe 20 people in or outside of the restaurant. Apologizing well after the fact isn't fixing a problem or managing your business. Comping one of the meals would have been a start, or other effective managers would have offered something. She was more concerned about making excuses that were not valid. She then finished by telling us to come back when things get better. If you've read this far and really want a good BBQ meat and three, go to Charlie's on Main Street or Purple Daisy in St. Elmo. If you want to save some money you could even go to the deli at the grocery store and have a better experience. You will enjoy that more. If you're looking for a chicken dish that's worthy of $20 entree, head to Boccaccia on south Broad and order the Involtini Val d'Aosta.

Amazing food! I had a Cobb salad, which I am normally not fond of. It was out of this world fabulous. I spoke with the chef and she said they brine the chicken first. That and the fabulous bacon and the interesting out of the ordinary dressing popped this dish! She was even bold enough to share the recipe for their amazing Mac and cheese recipe with us! Not that I could replicate it, but she is a fabulous chef! I give this restaurant a 10 out of 5 stars.

This place was right up my alley! I had the calamari, fried green tomatoes, chicken, and a salad. The fried green tomatoes were my favorite. They were fried perfectly and had a tangy slaw on top. The sauce that came with the calamari was sweet and tangy too. My Cafe Salad was fresh and nicely garnished. My partner had the Greek Herb Chicken and ate the whole thing. Everything we ate was delicious and the service was great! Multiple servers checked on us while we were there so we were never without anything we needed. The patio was really enjoyable and they had the fire going. It is a little pricey but worth treating yourself!

I can not remember any meal I've enjoyed more than this. I had the special, a mushroom ravioli, and a Bailey's brownie. I finished my pasta with a clean plate - it was light, incredibly full of flavor, and the perfect serving size. The Bailey's brownie was absolutely magical. The layers of interesting texture and decadence played music on my palate. Hands down, this is the best restaurant experience I've ever had. I was able to thank the staff and owner in person as they were equally as attentive to the patrons as they were to the ingredients. I don't write reviews often, so take heed and enjoy at the Cafe on the Corner.

A true gem!!!! Excellently prepared food, beautiful presentations, thoughtful and professional staff. Met the chef and the owner - wonderful people. Shrimp and calamari top drawer. Same with herb chicken. Key lime pie the best. Fried green tomatoes superb. My highest recommendations.

Terrible host. Get a better attitude. The fries were greasy and rubbery. Chicken salad was very generic. Publix’s does better. There was no croissant it was a soft bun out of a bag. Soup was ok but way to expensive for a bowl. The portions are not worth the money. Overrated tourist joint.

We found this gem on our drive up to lookout mountain and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend stopping here for a tasty bite!!!The staff is friendly and the food is wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed with a beautiful view yet it has the ability to dress up with linen napkins and a fireplace. I am definitely going to put this on my revisit list!!! ? ???

The calamari was perfectly cooked; tender and delicious! The blackened filet special was cooked to the exact temp we requested, and everything was delicious! This is a wonderful place to dine!

This is a quaint little cafe with beautiful outdoor seating and a super wine bar. I had Shrimp Po’Boy and Josena had the club with English Breakfast tea. To top it off we had a warmed chocolate chip cookie with hot fudge and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Along with the excellent coffee, it was a “to die for dessert. Worth the slight diversion. Up the mountain! 5 stars!

We stayed at a cabin a mile away from this restaurant. We came to Chattanooga to let our daughter visit many of the places we had as children. Happened to find this restaurant and it was a great find. Good food and service. Highly recommend saving room for the Bailey’s brownie or skillet cookie for dessert.

Discovered this place online while on a trip to Chattanooga a week before Thanksgiving 2021. Menu/Reviews sounded great for dinner and Cafe's location on Lookout had us looking forward to driving up & down the mountain where we could get a good nighttime view of Chattanooga below. The food was spectacular, the service excellent, and the setting cozy and intimate. We've been thinking of this place ever since. We'll be back

First, the good. Our server was excellent. Now the not so good. When I plunk down $60 for a meal for two I do NOT expect to be sat by a loud, rambunctious toddler in nearly empty restaurant. I do NOT expect one of the employees to plunk down beside me, practically on top of my purse, on the banquette and talk to the grandfather of the loud toddler about their football bets for a half an hour. And I do juit expect the toddlers grandmother to pull staff away frome their duties to put a movie on for said toddler, nor do I wish to overhear a kids movie while dining. Apparently the toddler is related somehow to either staff or owners, but they made our meal miserable. I felt like I was intruding on a lunch gathering in a day care center instead of dining at restaurant I remember fondly as having a certain amount of class and panache. If I want that atmosphere, I can pay half the price for similar food at Applebees. Dont think we'll be returning.

Came straight back to B&B to write this, since I was so underwhelmed. My server--Zachary-- was fine as far as service goes. A lady with long blonde hair and grey headed man were at the entrance as we left did not speak, say thank you, come back, ...nothing. My husbands meatloaf was just weird. Unlike any we'd ever had, but I don't know how to describe it. Slaw was also strange. My salad was great though. We were shocked by the $3.75 for a glass of tea. We've been to much nicer restaurants, and never been charged $3.75 for tea. One last thing, when you are at a restaurant with a $42 entree on the menu, you don't expect the server to be wearing a happy dog face mask, perhaps solid black would be more appropriate.
