Excellent tour. New tasting rooms are beautiful. Loved the history on such a beautiful property.
We did an innovation tasting only which was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to sample 5 different exclusive distillers bottles. At the end we were able to buy a bottle that was only available to people who did that tasting. Parking in the main lot was full but expect that as it’s a small parking lot. They have an overflow lot across the street with a shuttle that runs about every 5-10 minutes or it’s a short walk.
I came from DC and went to the Jack Daniels tour with 5 friends (3 locals) and we LOVED the history, area and specially the tour with Justin!! He was funny, knowledgeable, professional and most importantly, we all were able to learn from him! I was surprised how much we got for our tour ($75). We got hot coco with some Jack Daniels on it 😉, professional group picture for each person, nice shot glasses, a piece of a barrel with Jack Daniels logo and an amazing tasting in a private room with some of their best options! The whole tour was entertaining, enjoyable and they keep giving us things!! I am sure there are other options for all budgets, but we all thought this was worth it and had lots of fun and pictures around their areas. Thank you Justin!! You made our experience an unique one!!
Be warned - the front desk team will choose whether to let you in based on your arrival time. We weren’t allowed to park on site with an RV (despite plenty of spaces). That resulted in us walking in at nearly the time of our tour, which had not started. But the incredibly rude manager, Kelly, wouldn’t let us go. She then said she would move us to the next tour and when we checked in for that EARLY she had not moved us, and told us we could go to an even later tour. She was rude and unhelpful. Not a good showing for a business catering to tourists.
I've been several times, and it is always a great time. Shout out to our tour guide, Rooster (I don't know if that's the name his momma gave him). It's awesome for non-drinkers as well. Serene setting, beautiful landscape, and history all come together, making for a pleasant day. 170 steps during the tour, but they're spaced out, all have handrails, and about 50/50 going up or down.
Fun walk at the distillery and the downtown area.
We did the All About the Barrel experience tour last weekend with some friends that were visiting from out of state. We booked the tour online a few weeks before the visit which was super convenient. I got emails and a call from Lacey with reminders and useful information leading up to the visit. Once there the check in was pretty smooth. Our tour guide Justin was phenomenal! Engaging, funny and extremely knowledgeable; I don’t think there was a question asked that he wasn’t able to answer. The All About the Barrel experience is so much more comprehensive that the standard tour which i’ve done before (about 3 year ago), first we went into one of the active production barrel houses where we learned about the barreling process and nuances that make the different types of Jack Daniel’s whiskeys different from each other, then we got a seasonal drink (They had Hot Chocolate and Warm Cider with Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire whiskey available for our visit. THE best adult hot chocolate i’ve had in my life btw. Perfect chocolate to whiskey ratio and drinkable temperature.) We then joined parts of the regular tour trail for the history of Jack Daniels and the whiskey making process from making their own charcoal to bottling the final product. Then we made it to the tasting part of the experience where we got to taste four single barrel and one sold out special edition twice barreled whiskies. The tasting was guided which made it super interesting how you can prepare the palette to taste the different flavors in each one. We got to take home a shot glass and a wood coaster, a souvenir picture and a barrel stave all included in the tour price. Overall 10/10 would definitely recommend.
We visited around Christmas and Lea provided a great tour. The experience didn't feel rushed at all and we learned lots of cool things about the history of JD. It was nice to taste some of the other flavors JD has to offer and we ended picking up a bottle of the rye to bring home. I'm very glad we took a detour from our road trip to visit the distillery. It was well worth it!
Oh my, so much amazing history shared. Great job, Ms. Wiseman. You exceeded all my expectations for the tour today. Your knowledge was vast and plentiful which really makes for an enjoyable time.
Thank you so much for the experience!
Disproportionate response to the Tariffs?. You eat what you sow with your comments in your letter Whiting.
Jack and Coke? Not up in the North. Even if we account just 1% of your sales. Stay off our shelves.

Unmissable! The tour is very well explained and lasts about 1 hour and a half. You will visit the entire production process, the place where the charcoal is produced and used to filter the whiskey (mandatory in the state) and Jack's historic house. At the end of the tour, you will have a great tasting of the house's whiskeys and then you will go to the store, with good prices. It is definitely worth a visit!
Justin is da best tour guide! He made the tour super fun and entertaining. He is very engaging with the group, knowledgeable about the process and history behind Jack Daniel’s. I enjoyed the last part of the tour…tasting. He was teaching the group the proper way of drinking and tasting the whiskey. I am not a whiskey drink and myself and another girl made the tasting experience fun. I highly recommend checking out the place and asking for Justin as a tour guide because he is excellent at what he’s doing 💯 Also, get yourself a hot cocoa with some Jack Daniel’s because it’s very tasty, especially walking in the rain.
When they tell you never meet your hero, that's the same as your favorite whiskey. Wife took me here as a gift. The tour guide was nice but didn't tell you anything you couldn't find online. The tasting was very boring. I've done many tastings at different places and this was the least impressive. The serving size wasn't even a half shot. The ones you get to try weren't something that makes you go grab one. I could do the tasting at my own house. Disappointing that Jack didn't have a limited edition jack at the distillery. Where you can only get it at the distillery. The $45 dollar tasting/tour wasn't worth that. The only thing special is you can engraved on a bottle. Nothing around was open after the last tour. The distillery closes and the restaurant the tour guide recommended are also closed. I still enjoy Jack but was highly disappointed in the tour.
Jack Daniel’s Distillery Tour & Innovation Tour: A Whiskey Journey 🍹
I had the pleasure of experiencing both the Distillery Tour and the Innovation Tour at Jack Daniel’s, and it was an unforgettable journey through the brand’s rich history and its exciting innovations in whiskey-making.
Jack Daniel’s Distillery: Tradition Meets Craftsmanship 🏭
Founded in 1866 in Lynchburg, Tennessee, Jack Daniel’s is famous for its unique whiskey-making process. One of its signature techniques is charcoal mellowing, where whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal for a smooth, rich taste. The distillery also draws water from an underground spring, rich in minerals, giving the whiskey a distinctive flavor. Set in a scenic valley, the distillery immerses you in the history and legacy of this legendary brand.
Distillery Tour: A Deep Dive into Whiskey-Making 🔍
The Distillery Tour lasts about two hours, taking you through every step of the whiskey-making process. We got to see the fermentation, distillation, and mellowing stages up close, and learn about the vital role of the unique water source and charcoal mellowing in creating Jack Daniel’s signature smoothness. This tour gave me a true appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into each bottle of whiskey. 💧
Innovation Tour: Tasting New Whiskey Styles 🥃
On the Innovation Tour, we sampled five different whiskeys from the Distillery Series, each showing off Jack Daniel’s innovative approach to whiskey-making:
1. High Toast Oak Barrels — A bold, intense rye whiskey with flavors of caramel, vanilla, and wood. A great pick for those who love a strong flavor profile. 🔥
2. Toasted Pecan Wood Chips — Sweet and smooth with notes of caramel, honey, and roasted nuts. This one is perfect for those who enjoy a sweeter, milder whiskey. 😌
3. Añejo Tequila Barrels — Finished in Añejo tequila barrels, this whiskey brings out refreshing citrus and herbal flavors, with a distinct tequila essence. 🌵
4. Oloroso Sherry Casks — The smoothest and sweetest of the bunch, with raisin, caramel, and nutty flavors. This one quickly became my favorite for its soft, balanced taste. ❤️
5. Twice Barreled Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey — Double-barreled for a rich, spicy flavor with layers of complexity. The boldest and most intense whiskey in the series. 🔥💥
Tradition Meets Innovation
Both tours highlighted Jack Daniel’s commitment to tradition and innovation. The Distillery Tour provided a deeper understanding of the timeless processes that have made this whiskey a global favorite, while the Innovation Tour showcased the brand’s drive to push boundaries and experiment with new flavors. It was amazing to see how the brand blends its rich history with a forward-thinking approach to whiskey.
Conclusion: A Must-See for Whiskey Lovers
These two tours gave me a fuller understanding of what makes Jack Daniel’s so special, from the rich history of the distillery to the exciting innovations shaping the future of whiskey. Whether you’re a fan of classic whiskey or keen to try new styles, both tours are an absolute must for any whiskey lover! 🍸
