This is an awesome stop for good. Delicious and plentiful! Best fried chicken I've ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Be aware though! Plan ahead and get reservations or you may not get a seat!

Lovely quaint eaterie.
Great service with table host to stir conversations
Meal is served for the whole table. Like mom would serve choice is from whatever is put on the table, take it or leave it.
We had roast pork and Fried chicken. We loved the food
Dessert was pie.
With water and Iced Tea.
Coffee to follow.
Probably not suitable for fussy kids. No chicken fingers and fries here! - Thank the lord

Had lunch here today at this historic eatery! Loved the venue, family style servings, and atmosphere. Our server Jeanie took great care of us in the Motlow Room and her conversation made us feel at home. I loved the fried chicken, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, and apples cooked with Jack Daniel’s whiskey. I’ll be back someday!

I was really excited to eat here with my boyfriend and especially to learn all of the history, but if I had known the history lesson would be a roleplay game amongst the whole table I would not have came. I felt humiliated and couldn't enjoy the history part at all, I'm still not sure what the history really was because it was a chaotic routine with props that were ridiculous. I was really disappointed with what I thought would be my favorite part. The young girl doing food and drink refills never brought the water we requested and had to wait a really long time with an empty drink before we got a refill of the tea we didn't like. The food was really good and the house was absolutely beautiful. The gift shop was also really nice, but I never went back to get what I wanted to buy after dinner because I was ready to leave immediately.

Our host Diane was wonderful. She did a good job of making everyone comfortable and ensured our needs were met. We left there with full bellies. I highly recommend the candied apples.
