Wonderful food worth the wait to be freshly cooked. Homemade biscuits were wonderful. The American flag made of wood on the wall.
Great homemade calzones. Also enjoyed a white chocolate latte frappe.
Great coffee, the staff was awesome
After a wildly unsuccessful visit to Lynchburg for lunch (1st choice was closed, 2nd choice insisted that I sit with strangers if I wanted a spot), I wandered to Southern Perks desperate for...anything. Their menu has sandwiches, pizza, and coffee drinks. I intended to eat lunch because I was hungry.
It was around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Monday and there was absolutely no one in there. An employee came out from the back after a minute or two, but the eerily empty environment and somewhat odd smell in the space dissuaded me from actually ordering a meal. Instead, I wound up ordering a small iced white chocolate mocha to go. It was pricy for a small iced coffee -- over $6.
The employee went to the back to fix it for me. It took a few minutes but nothing unreasonable. She brought it back out to me in a cup that looked like a hot latte cup, but it was fortunately made correctly and iced.
Overall, it was...fine. Not super creamy, pretty thin and almost watery instead of milky consistency. Decent white chocolate flavor but not a ton of coffee flavor. For the price, I probably wouldn't get it again, but it was serviceable.
I dunno, I feel like I'm maybe being a little unfair because of my overall poor experience in town, but given the one thing I tried was resoundingly average, I guess I stick by my 3 star rating. Hoping for a more successful venture the next time I return to town.
We had calzones very good they have sandwiches salads nice people, place good service
My bestie and I loved this place!! So quaint and friendly!
Worst Latte I’ve ever had
I was way too excited walking in this cafe to experience the rudeness and lack of customer service. Never again.

I love small family owned businesses. This was a wonderful place to visit. Especially since we were able to easily walk from our hotel while our family slept in a little. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches were great. Best of all they, are not Starbucks.

It's definitely a great spot to start your day!
The staff is friendly, the food is pretty dang good (breakfast burrito or you're doin it wrong), and of course the coffee.
It's a nice shop with plenty of stuff to look at and wonder to and from.
