My husband, son and I visited for the first time yesterday and don't know why we haven't come by sooner!! The food was delicious and the staff made it a fun atmosphere to enjoy lunch! We brought some baked goods home with us and loved them. Can't wait to return 💝
by far the best food I have eaten since moving to Manchester. food is delicious. the staff is friendly and atmosphere is cozy almost like home. I will be back
Delicious home cooked style meals. I’m from south Louisiana where the BEST food is and The Mercantile is the only place I have found around Tullahoma that actually has good food compared to what I grew up with. It’s also super cute inside and everyone is very helpful and friendly. They are very nice to my 2 year old daughter that loves to run around and look at everything when she is done eating. We eat here every Sunday.
Great little place. Home cooking and might be the best banana pudding I have ever eaten! Cakes looked awesome too!

Mercantile Cafe is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of Southern hospitality. The highlight of my visit was the fried catfish, perfectly seasoned and cooked to a crispy golden brown. It’s a must-try for any seafood lover!
The bakery section is equally impressive, with freshly baked goods that tempt you as soon as you walk in. Each bite of the pastries is a delightful treat.
What really sets this place apart is the friendly owner. Their warm welcome makes you feel right at home, creating a cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger. If you’re looking for great food and a welcoming vibe, Mercantile Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

I have been twice. The food was very good however when I go in I get to go orders because we are working. The lady serving the food literally rolled her eyes both times I’ve been when I said I have three orders and they are all to go. I will NOT go back. The food was always excellent but I do not want to feel like I’m bothering someone by ordering food. If they hate their job that bad then they should go find something else to do.
i’ve been to the mercantile twice. Once for ice cream and once for the bakery. The employees were genuine and i love a jokey & casual encounter at any establishment. I got the cannoli and lemon bar on my last encounter and it was absolutely delicious. VERY rich and very flavorful. i am looking forward to returning to hopefully try the take away school pizza!
Great place for a delicious breakfast or lunch!!

Found out they got fried chicken and it was sooo good, Leona even added a habanero jam on it. That jam is wonderful, it’s spicy and sweet.
Poor management, saw one of the waitresses take out of the tip jar.. also saw instant mashed potato trash in the bin. the cook seemed drunk, but there was an older lady there by the name sis. she was very kind. other than that, i didn’t see anyone else but her and the waitress who stole. sis needs a raise. food wasn’t bad though.
