A&R BARBEQUE— Hickory Hill

First time in Memphis and was recommended this place. The service is extraordinary good. I think that was the owner who came out to greet me. Than, another gentleman came out to greet me again and to ask if everything was good. I ordered the beef brisket and the ribs ends... OMG!!! What a delicious meal I had. I never had brisket this way... Delicious. And the rib ends... Awesome. I will definitely come back here again and recommend it with other people.

The phone service is very poor and rude and when ordering on line gotta make sure they have it cuz when you pay and get there and they don't have it you have to go through hoops just to get the refund I'm still waiting since last time I ordered and did not get my chicken salad and I got rude talk from the lady

I ordered a large chopped turkey sandwich and a side of potato salad 18.00 dollar ridiculous and hardly any barbecue sauce and cold place is not the same horrible

I went here to get a bbq sandwich. The lady at the front counter was chatting with a man while taking customers orders. The other lady had a baby on her hip. A customer walked in to pick up her order and they told her it was a big order so it was not ready. My sandwich was cold and had no bbq sauce on it.

Dear owner!!!! You need to teach the person who answers the phone to take orders how to not be mean to your customers. We are the ones who keeps your business afloat. It dont cost a dime to be nice to others. We can always take our money elsewhere. I hate it when black business have mean ungrateful people working in their establishments and dont know how to treat folks. I am done sending people there. They always tell me the food was good but the girls there have bad attitudes. Not a good look!!!!

I don’t ever leave reviews, but today I am .Ordered a pulled pork sandwich from this location, the pork was so dry n hard there were times I had to lift my bun to see if it wasnt a bone that I was chewing. Worst experience by far I’ve had from here.

Best BBQ in town! And they have RIB TIPS 🍖 Chicken Nachos, Smoked Chicken Salad, Catfish, Hot Links, Polishes, Bologna, Turkey Legs, Hickory Smoked Wings & MUCH MORE! Them my faves!

I’ve ordered here now for about a year, and usually between noon and 16:00, there is much to be desired here, and I’m sure a change in management or enforcing of SOPs would really shape up this location.
I can only account for the ribs here, as my usual order is a half slab or full slab mild with a pecan pie. I do not believe they remove the membrane from the ribs, if you care about that sort of thing. I’ve seen some say that their bbq is slathered with sauce; I’ve not had an overbearing amount of sauce, and I will say that it’s usually coated with just enough sauce. Pecan pie is pecan pie.
The service and atmosphere here has very seldomly risen to the bar of bare minimum. You’d hardly ever hear a greeting when you enter. Most recently, 09/06/2025, I stopped by and ordered my usual via the new mobile app. While the app notifies you that your order is ready, there could be human error in actual expedition. A staff member asked me for my order name, then disappeared into the back. About 5 mins later I had to repeat this process and was then given my order by another member of staff on the phone with very much a “here, damn” attitude. Very often, if you attempt to call in an order, you have a high chance of being greeted with “A&R BBQ hold please”. Photos are incoming.
