Great service and cute, cozy setup on the inside! I ordered the pea stew with two sides, spicy lentils and yellow split peas. I would create a combo a la carte if visiting again. For the pea stew, I envisioned a different dish for pea stew. It is much like Shiro I've had at other Ethiopian restaurants but with extra onions. I definitely plan to come back to try more items on the menu. Overall the flavor and spice of the dishes was very good and the plating beautiful! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-02

First time having Ethiopian food, very similar to Indian, the injera bread was delicious. Very big portion size, loved it!

The owner of the restaurant was very welcoming, and the food turned out to be surprisingly good. The flavors were pleasantly sour with a touch of spiciness, which tasted great. The only drawback was that the smoke alarm went off twice during our lunch—it was extremely loud and lasted for quite a while.

The food and the service was good it was clean too. But, the place is very small and could have been bigger to provide better ambience

I quickly found this place through Google after two failed attempts at trying other food on Madison (memphis jamaican kitchen & pyros pizza failed miserably).

It's been almost a decade since I had Ethiopian food in kcmo, but I remembered liking it so I gave this place a shot.

The customer service was great, cozy environment and tasty food. I had the beef tips with potatoes, cabbage and collard greens. I didn't like the bread (they give it complimentary with each meal).

I came right before the rush because when I first walked in there were only two separate tables occupied, but this hidden gem must be popular among locals (for good reason) because by the time I left all the tables were occupied.

This is my second time eating here while visiting Memphis. There were a variety of vegan options with the Number 14. The food was tasteful and delicious. The customer service was top notch. Needed extra injera, that was not a problem. Will eat here again. Recommended for vegans as well. Visited June 30, 2025. There is pull up parking in front of the building. Parking in front of the restaurant will cause to back up into the busy street. It was not until I was leaving that I noticed the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.
