Excellent food and service. Delicious fried green tomatoes! Biscuits tasted healthy and homemade. Alcenia’s tomato sauce was perfect for the biscuits. The ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant, bright and clean. Probably our best meal on a cisit to Memphis.

We found Alcenia’s while at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital just browsing the map for a nearby eatery. The owner herself —such a sweet lady— greeted us and gave us a much welcomed hug. We knew right then and there that we were in good hands. The place was packed so the food took some time to arrive, but I can promise it was worth the wait. Not only was it delicious, it was very comforting and left a long-standing great impression of this place and my first time in Memphis overall. It might sound corny but this is a place filled with love.

In the area for a work trip and stopped in here with a group of us. Food was amazing and atmosphere just as good. You're gonna feel like family here and leave with a full stomach! If I'm ever in the area again this is a must stop place for me.

It’s not just the places you go but the people you meet (and the food you eat) along the way that make unforgettable memories!! Ms BJ and her Alcenias team are absolutely amazing. Ms BJ is so loving and welcoming. My visit was nothing short of amazing and was one of the many highlights of my Memphis visit… from being greeted and welcomed to the family with a forehead kiss to being served some of the most delicious soul food, Ms BJ makes you feel like you’re at grandmas for Sunday dinner. Having the opportunity to listen to Ms BJ share her love and passion for cooking along with her recipes was an absolute bonus!
