Had a wonderful authentic lunch at Alcenia’s. Food was home-cooked, delicious and hospitality was excellent. Couldn’t recommend more. I had the catfish and my father had fried chicken and we had 4 sides between us - all of it was delicious.
It was an experience from the moment I had to order to the moment I finished the food, WARNING: it takes LONG time to get the food, but trust me, it is worth it!, they take long because they make almost everything on the spot, so it's worth the wait !!, the manager was really friendly and always tried to make sure we felt they care for our happiness while we're there, also made all effort to make sure we understood the menu and how to order, on the food itself, I tried...
The food was good. Corn bread was just how I like it crunchy around the edges and soft in the middle. (So good, I ordered extras). Mac and Cheese was too salty. The salt mistakenly measured or accidentally wasted, and it was just too much mac and cheese to throw out. The yams were good,I like to have extra yam juice for my cornbread and Mac and cheese. It was good without (being honest). Meatloaf needed some extra sauce, not too much, but enough to get the full flavor of the dish....
