I worked at American Deli (2457 MLK DR)two different times. This second time I quit because the management sucks. Mr Chuni stole money out of my paycheck saying the draw was short every single day I closed. He also took my pay down from 13 to 11 dollars because I quit. They have roaches every where in the back all in the ice machine. They have immigrants working in the back that get drunk on the clock and harass the women employees. They threaten the young blk women and tell them if they dont work 7 days all day open to close they will be fired. They do not give breaks and we work 10hr shifts but they take it out our checks.

The worst cooked food in the city for us black folks. Everything full of salt. Never had a blacken chicken salad where the meat is cooked like a philly. Took the objective of eating healthy out of the equation. Chicken taste tenders taste worst than store bought and the philly looked horrible my grandson got. Stay away from these unhealthy hood spots people.

Today was a day y’all so my daughter and I walked in American Deli the first thing we noticed was great customer service all smiles they feed in the need if you understand what I mean, our food was fast and fresh, at a reasonable time they made sure we were straight before we left we got extra seasoning before they closed the food container all the continents, we need it I also walked into the restroom very nice clean and stock up the restaurant was very quiet and clean ready for business baby #GOOD EATS#just keep up the good work in the neighborhood

I think there should be several side options. Just fries is kinda plain. Other than that, no complaints. Awesome menu choices. Fried and a bit healthy is always a good mix. Two thumbs up!!! ?? ??

The best wings in Memphis. American Deli on Lamar @ Democrat, consistently has excellent food value and genuine Southern pleasant customer service. Some of my go to favs: fries ordered extra crispy with lemon pepper, the chicken pepper cheese steak w/extra jalapeno peppers and a side of Ranch, house special fried rice with extra shrimp and hot sauce, the ViP ( 1/2 lemonade 1/2 sweet tea). One combo meal will feed me twice. American Deli is a growing family owned business, let's support them over big corporations.
