Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Sat at the bar. Food was great, got the chilaquiles (Mexican here) and had a great authentic flavor. I would just make them spicier but that’s just my opinion. The margaritas I had were great too.

Well I have this five just recently and I like it, so I came back. today we're just gonna have a couple of drinks. Service is great as always. Today is the weekend so it's very packed. And the ambience it's really refreshing.

Let me just say that I LOVE the food at Babalu! I have been to this location several times over the years. I went with a friend on a Sunday around noon and there was no wait! We got water and a menu but it took a while for the waitress to come back. The place was not crowded at all (hence the no wait). We were not given a Brunch menu, but having been here before, we asked about it and she brought us one. We both ordered a sangria mimosa and the drink was brought our pretty quickly. Food was ordered and came pretty quickly as well. The breakfast burrito was huge and delicious. The problem came when we got the bill. It took a while to get the bill back. Then, we noticed we were charged for a regular sangria which was more expensive and when we asked about it, they could not adjust the price because we had already drank it. Okay, I get the logic behind it. We give her our cards as the bill is split between the two of us by what we ordered. We get our receipts and she mixed up our cards. We essentially paid for the other person's order. It was definitely enough to notice because one person ordered an extra item so it wasn't just $5 more than the other. I told her about her mixup and she asked if we could "just Venmo" each other to sort it out because it would take 7 days to get our money back if she tried to fix it. We would have figured out how we wanted to handle it. I just wanted her to be aware of her mistake for future references. She took no accountability and suggested we figure it out. For our food to be pretty good, the service was less than desirable and left a bitter taste in our mouths. We plan on going to a different location next time.

The food was bland, there is no spicy food at all, the spiciest they have is Valentina sauce. The cups are dirty with everyone’s lip grease on it. The ambiance is boring too, it’s not a fun place to go.

Visiting Memphis and came here with my sister and daughter. Everything was delicious. We had short rib grilled cheese, rösti potatoes, Babalou's chopped salad and roasted brussel sprouts, Cuban torta and juke joint juice. Completely forgot to take pics but you won't be disappointed. The service was phenomenal...our server wasn't pushy and offered suggestions. The ambiance is very laid back and chill. There is a gratuity added to all bills after 9 during the week so keep that in mind when you visit.
