Absolutely the best. Catfish was exceptional and the ribs were very tender. Our server, Luby, was so friendly and our beverage glasses were constantly filled. We came back later to watch basketball and our bartender Alex was engaging and attentive. All of the employees are friendly and committed to making certain that guests are well taken care of. A truly awesome experience.

Our first lunch in Memphis was at Blues City Cafe, and it was a good start to the trip to get some BBQ. The service was friendly and quick, and the ribs and catfish platter hit the spot—plenty for two to share. The ribs were messy but flavorful with a sweet sauce. In the evenings, live bands play next door, which is worth checking out for some authentic Memphis music. Only downside—our bartender was a bit crabby and made us think twice about going back.

After having so much BBQ, we opted to have the tamales and chili-restaurant stated best in town. We truly liked them. The BBQ looked incredible though. It’s highly recommended by others

Generous portions for a good price, especially the ribs and fish combo. Also recommend the hot apple dumplings topped with ice cream for dessert. Both of these are shareable.

Pleasant surprise this little restaurant... We were not to stop but that fully met our expectations.Server with little care, card with choice and correct price. Go without hesitation!!! I would add that admission is free unlike the restaurant opposite where admission was paid...

The place is nice, nice music and acceptable food.. The service is completely s**t.. the man in the room is very rude, he treated us very bad and when we asked for the bill, he came pretending 20% of tip (no mention on the menu); we gave just the 10% and he left the table screaming “ITALIANI DI M***A” is an an acceptable behavior, there are a lot of better place than your smelly stable..

This was a great surprise. Planned to walk along Beale St a few minutes before finding dinner somewhere else, and saw this corner spot with an old-fashioned diner feel and a good crowd. The fried catfish was mild with a peppery batter and some of the best I've ever had. My server was folksy friendly and made me feel right at home. The food came out in 5 minutes piping hot and delicious.

We saw Blind Mississippi sing and play the harmonica in the back with a band and it was just amazing , our bar maid was super at her job and the food and drinks were great- highly recommend that bar in the bar for live music!

We had late night eats here when everything else on Beale was closing down last Monday.

The service was great, our waitress was friendly, fast, and just the right amount of attentive without being overbearing.

I had the pot roast stew which was absolutely fantastic and a side order of catfish which was delicious too.

My wife had tamales and chili which she really enjoyed and our friend had shrimp which was a huge portion for the price and tasted amazing.

The pecan pie with ice cream to finish was the perfect dessert.

Wish we had stayed in Memphis a second night to give more of the menu a taste.

Definitely a spot worth hitting if you are in the area.

This place is a nice casual diner with friendly and fast service. The meat fell off the bones with each bit of the ribs we had, and all the sides were delicious, especially the Texas toast! Also try the the apple dumpling dessert!
