On Friday, July 25, 2025, I visited the Captain D’s location at 1690 Union Avenue in Memphis, TN. I placed an order for two 3-piece fish meals with fries and beans, along with one regular lobster bisque. My total was $30.37.
Upon receiving my order from Derrick (as indicated on the receipt), I noticed while driving away that the lobster bisque was served in a noticeably smaller container than usual and was only filled about one-quarter of the way. I promptly returned to the drive-thru and inquired with Derrick whether the portion I received was considered a regular size. He stated that it was and added that the soup comes pre-packaged. I found this explanation to be unreasonable, as I have ordered the lobster bisque multiple times and have never received such a small portion.
I then requested a refund. Derrick appeared visibly irritated by this request, closed the drive-thru window abruptly, and called for someone else to assist me.
A few minutes later, Teniqua came to the window and asked for my receipt. Approximately five minutes after that, she asked for my debit card. I assumed this was to process the refund since I had paid with the same card. However, instead of refunding just the bisque or offering a credit, she voided the entire order and recharged my card for the full amount. I found this process to be highly unprofessional for two reasons: first, she did not inform me or ask for my consent before recharging my card, which could have resulted in a financial inconvenience; and second, it was unclear why a full void and re-charge was necessary when a partial refund would have sufficed.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the level of customer service I received from both Derrick and Teniqua. While the transaction did not result in a financial hardship, the handling of the situation was inconsiderate and poorly managed. It is not just about the charge, but it is about the principle and the lack of professionalism shown throughout the interaction.

The order was ready when my husband and I arrived. I got a baked potato. The temperature of the food was hot. The ice tea was sweetened correctly. I was envious of my husbands chocolate cheesecake, since my dessert was my ice tea.

I stopped in for dinner, normally I would grab the Giant Fish Sandwich and a slice of Key Lime Pie. But the drive thru was empty, so I thought about trying a dinner plate. The Grilled White Fish with lemon pepper seasoning was better than expected and was light paired with the steamed broccoli and rice

If you come here as a substitute for Long John Silver's, you will be disappointed. The building appears to be a failed LJS, but the food is nowhere near the quality. It was just OK, we ate about half. The lady at the drive up was as pleasant as could be. She forgot my drink and somehow did not catch an extra order of hush puppies when we ordered, but we swung around and she gave the drink and added the hush puppies for free. Maybe the best drive thru service I have seen in Memphis, TN in terms of politeness and kindness.

Need to find friendly respectful people to work there. I was at the drive thru and the lady on speaker took my order and asked for any condiments. I stated yes Ketchup and tarter sauce. Got to the window and once my bag was given i received every condiments they had and barely what I asked for. The older lady with black and Grey hair rudely said why she still at window and rhe young girl at window stated she don't know. I replied of you come see what I need the sarcasm could have been kept. I told them I asked for 2 things and gave them the other condiments back and asked for Ketchup. Being nice matters! Especially if you made a mistake! Learn how to approach people being in customer service food industry. Sad how people act. Food was good but their attitude override my whole experience! I went to this location at 12:20pm, management needs to do better Especially to whom the hire.
