Updates review: The hotel fixed my issue swiftly. The hotel is really beautiful in a great location close to Beale street. We had a river front view and it was just beautiful during the sun set and you could see the bridge just lit up! The room was very clean and the aesthetics were nice. I would recommend this hotel to stay in
Walkability: Very close to restaurants and Beale street

Nice boutique type hotel. Don't expect coffee in the room. Staff are very friendly. Easy to walk to most sights and close to the FedEx Forum. Had a great view of the Mississippi River looking across to Arkansas.

I loved the art work in the hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and very accommodating. I would return for sure.

Rooms: THEY ARE SMALL! We got a double bed the it was barely any room us walk around. Especially because there is NOT a traditional closet we had nowhere to put all of the luggage.
Walkability: It's in the heart of downtown and right by Beale street.
Food and drinks: The food was ok. We ate breakfast daily, had drinks and bar food while playing pool. They have a limited menu and if you're not standing there reminding them your pizza is in the oven it will be forgotten.
As a Globalist you get free breakfast. The first 2 days we had to explain the benefits. By the 3rd day, we just let them charge us and would deal with it during checkout.
Noteworthy details: This hotel is connected to hyatt a centric. Your key gives access to the roof top lounge above the Centric. this lounge has a dj, bar and beautiful view.

The design of the hotel is very cute and the lobby is very nice. Our room had a couple of hairs in the shower and a small stain that looked like dried blood on one of the sheets, so we were concerned about the attention to detail for the cleanliness of the room. Overall the location was super convenient and I like that it's a newer hotel.

LOVED the historical preservation repurpose of the old William C. Ellis and Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop. Immensely better than whatever new construction could've been put in its place had it been demolished instead. Everything feels spacious. The industrial elements incorporated throughout the hotel are a nice and unique touch. The decor is stylish and focuses on Memphis right down to the bathroom wallpaper highlighting various Memphis must-sees. I like how well Hyatt balances maintaining branding while celebrating the destination. They recognize travelers are there to experience the area and not just a cookie cutter of the same hotel everywhere they go. This was my first time in a Caption hotel. I'm liking the variety of offerings across Hyatt's various collections. With each stay I'm becoming more of a fan.
Bonus: 1) My first free night using World of Hyatt points. So worth it to sign up for WOH. 2) I even liked the shampoo and conditioner which is rare for the free ones provided by hotels.
(This may feel like a paid ad with the fangirling over the brand but I swear it's not. They really are just knocking it out of the park. As a frequent traveler I'm becoming a genuine fan through them just earning it).
Rooms: Loved the ironworks industrial inspiration details worked into the vibrant modern decor. The Memphis themed bathroom wallpaper was fun. It was very clean. I even liked the shampoo and conditioner which isn't common in hotels in my opinion.
Nearby activities: Right at the end of Beale Street, it's an excellent location to retire after a night out. The view of the Mississippi River from the Centric's rooftop bar is perfect for sunset views.
The hotel is also a convenient distance from other Memphis attractions.
Safety: Caption is connected to Centric (both Hyatt) so you can enter in Centric to get to your room in Caption if you didn't want to walk a block off Beale. However, once I got there I didn't feel there were any safety issues around the hotel.
If you're concerned about safety you can also opt for the hotel's valley offering instead of parking in the garage yourself and walking.
Walkability: Several things to do were within walking distance. My husband and I walked to Beale Street and back each of the two nights of our stay. During the day we walked to Old Dominick's Distillery and Gus's Famous Fried Chicken.
Noteworthy details: The free filtered water machines on each floor in place of bottled water in the mini fridge was nice. Memphis is known for good quality artesian water supply.

Stayed here for 1 night on the way to Dallas. The hotel was modern and clean and the shower was great. Parking did cost 35 USD per night and it was a Valet service, but the valet person was really friendly and attentive. I would absolutely stay here again.

And in the center of Memphis you can reach the music street on foot in 10 minutes, restaurants, bars and behind the structure you can admire the Mississippi in the sense that it is so close that you can get your feet wet! With the possibility of relaxing in the evening admiring it and having a drink without having to go out! Romantic?

While the hotel was clearly new, and very nice, there were a couple issues. The pillows were flat flat flat, so my neck hurt after 1 night. I asked for my room to be clean before I left for work one morning, but when I got back at 6p, it still wasn't done. However, when I told them this, they handled it right away! I really appreciated this. Also, the housekeepers were VERY good! You could tell they did their job efficiently! Also, I was given a hand towel thrice instead of a bathmat. So that was...interesting.
The amenities are great! One of the BEST gyms I have seen at a hotel. Three bikes, three bikes (one of them a peloton!), and a rower. Free weights, KBs, DBs, mats, a workout studio, and two benches. Very nice! The pool was really nice as well. However, The gym never had towels readily available, and even after telling them this, it wasn't take care of. Small details like that matter for road warriors!
Besides those things, the staff were kind and excellent. I was recognized as a member of World of Hyatt, and I don't even have status yet, so that was a nice touch. The hotel is very nice, as are the rooms. The morning breakfast staff amazing, the coffee and food very fresh and delicious, and they even remembered my order after the first day!
As for the parking attendants, most of the time they were ok, but I had to wait way more than 10 minutes a couple times, even after having ordered my car by phone well in advance. I even saw the parking attendant take my keys and then stop and have a conversation for about 5 minutes with someone before going to grab my car. While I know they use a third party service for parking, if I were them, I would relay this to PMG. However, the parking attendants Tim and G; they were fantastic!
The app didn't work for the key, so that was annoying. And while I had to reset the TV to make the Chromecast work a couple times, that is a GREAT offering. Neither Hilton nor Marriott offer that, so that's awesome. Keep that feature, for sure!
I would stay again for sure, but if these small issues are fixed, my stay would go from good to excellent!
Rooms: Needs new pillows, but great bed, and great setup!
Nearby activities: Lots to walk to, eat, and do!
Safety: Felt very safe!
Walkability: Walk everywhere!
Food and drinks: Great options all day and night!
Noteworthy details: Great pool, and Chromecast!

Location is great as we were able to walk to the Mississippi River cruise and it's one block away from Beale Street.
The hotel staff is super nice: they wrote a letter for us to congratulate us for our honey moon and even left a gift for us in our room.
During the night we had an issue with the bathroom and the staff moved us into another room of the same type very fast and smoothly because they couldn't get somebody right away to fix the issue.
There are some convient overnight parking garage nearby and the hotel also have valet if you don't feel like walking.
The hotel lobby is super nice and there's a very cute bar for drinks, coffee, and food.
The hotel building is connected to the hotel next door (Hyatt Centric) where there's a pool and a rooftop bar that you can use.
Room itself was very nice and clean.

Hyatt Caption Memphis comes with a few drawbacks.
On the positive side, the views are truly stunning, and the rooms are impeccably clean, which is a big win for anyone prioritizing comfort and hygiene. The digital check-in process is also a breeze—quick, convenient, and reliable, making the arrival experience seamless.
However, the hotel leans heavily into its trendy vibe, which may not be for everyone - definitely not us. Feels like a college dorm room. The beds are so low to the ground that it feels like the mattress is almost on the floor, which can be uncomfortable, especially for those used to more traditional setups. The design quirks don’t end there—the bathroom sinks are mounted sideways, making them feel awkward to use. Even something as simple as grabbing a normal cup of coffee in the morning becomes a challenge due to the overly curated choices. How about just some free Folgers in a pump setup. Hyatt should take some notes from Marriott, Hampton, Holiday and Comfort.
Lastly, the rooms are quite noisy, with thin walls and street noise making it difficult to relax, especially if you're a light sleeper.
Overall, while the hotel has some high points, it may not be the best fit for travelers seeking a more traditional, restful experience. Would not return.
Rooms: College dorm room like. Beds so low almost on the ground.
Safety: Even the local Uber drivers tell you to return to your hotel by 930 pm at the latest due to the local crime.
Food and drinks: Coffee bar is awful. Traditional bar advertised open until 11, returned back for a drink at 10:15 and was already closed.

I flew in to see Tony Toni Tone at the Orpheum Theater. The staff was nice and offered suggestions of places to see and food to eat (aside from their restaurant. I ate their chicken sandwich, which is delicious), the hotel is walking distance to Beale Street which has plenty of restaurants and about 3 blocks to Gus Famous Fried Chicken (I don't eat fried often but the chicken IS ?). The room, linen and bathroom were all clean. The bathroom has 2 different shower head , which is great since I don't like the rain shower head. I would like to visit Memphis again since it was for a short stay but I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

I’ve had some bad experiences using Valet at other hotels. Gabrielle and her valet crew made me feel comfortable leaving my baby in their hands ! Hands down best service I’ve ever received at any establishment. I recommend them 10/10

What an impressive hotel!!
It’s located just around the corner of beale street and the roomview on the mississippi is stunning. The design is so nice, fresh and modern. The food/breakfast in the table talk foodcorner is outstanding compared to the usual fat, greasy and fried stuff in the most other parts of the US. Only the service of table talk was quite slow…
Will come back when I need to be in Memphis again.

A triumph of form over function. From the moment you arrive, discovering that the mandatory valet drop off is completely on the opposite side of the building with no signage, you might get a sense that things are not going to go well. You are correct, sadly. Nearly every opportunity to provide function or value to their guests is sacrificed to the need to be edgy and on trend. The elevators are hidden, the sinks only have room for one hand, the mini-fridge only has one shelf, the mattress would not pass muster in a barracks. The shower has no place for our soaps and stuff. Some marketing genius decided to put a promotional sticker on the face of the TV. The list goes on and on. A very sad case of shockingly poor execution on a branding concept. There are far better hotels within blocks. Don’t make the mistake I did.
Edit: I provided our information to corporate as requested and… crickets
Rooms: Clumsy layout with cramped walking paths. Poor seating and a mattress only a chiropractor could love. The fridge only has one shelf. The sink is so cramped that only one hand can fit in at a time.
