Just came from Alabama working in Memphis building cell towers. Me and my buddies came looking for the best bbq in Memphis and got some TRASH brisket cut 1/16” so it wouldn’t be so tuff and tasted like it was boiled DRY ribs and turkey that was mid AT BEST for $50.00. Man I shoulda called the police after yall hustled me like that.

The meat was good, and the sauces were great. Unfortunately, the whole place smelled a bit gross: musty, mildew/moldy, and stuffy. No AC (at least it wasn’t turned on when we went during the middle of a hot summer day.) We got water from the fountain and it smelled and tasted like mold. The dining area seemed like it needed cleaning. If I had to, I’d get the meat from here again for takeout, but I wouldn’t dine in again. My husband and I were seriously disappointed with our experience especially after seeing so many good reviews. Is this just the general Memphis experience?

Went in a little over an hour before closing and didn’t have a good experience. The place smells old, there’s a mold smell around the drink station, the table was sticky, chairs seemed like they were going to fall apart if you moved them too much, and our food wasn’t very good. Fries were old, and the food seemed like it had just been heated up. Will not be going back.

Look, I don’t give a crap if you close for a day to have fun with staff, but if you do, you have to post about this and tell your customers on social media / google business. A sign on the door was acceptable in 2014, it’s 2025.

Everything felt dirty inside. The meat didn't even taste smokey. There was no smoke smell inside or outside. Good banana pudding though.
We ordered two pork sandwich meals, a kids pork plate, and a kids hot dog. Pulled pork did not have a lot of flavor and the sides (fries and Mac-n-cheese) were lukewarm and generic. Dining room was musty and the roof was leaking during a rainstorm. Bathrooms were also dirty and in disrepair. This used to be our go to spot since we are in the neighborhood but the food quality has really gone downhill. Do not recommend anymore.
