Ciao Bella has to be 1 of my favorite restaurants in Memphis! Every dish I've had has been absolutely delicious! I try to save food to take home every time, but it never makes it! The service is amazing and I love how they designed the new restaurant! It's elegant but still very much inviting. I like to think of Ciao bella as my little well-known secret that I don't like sharing.

This was my husband’s birthday dinner. We love Ciao Bella and were excited to see its new location. We were seated as far from the front as possible. Which I knew from the get-go this would mean we would be forgotten about. We saw our waitress maybe 4 total times (take order, bring order, water refill and check) and it took her forever to just take our order. Her attitude was very blasé. The appetizer came fairly quickly, but we waited over 30 minutes for our entrees. When we did finally get our main course, my husband’s was barely warm. He had the spinach manicotti. I had the lasagna which was also barely warm on the outside and piping hot in the middle. Which screams it was heated in a microwave. I don’t see why it would take 30 minutes to get a dish that was surely made in bulk and two manicotti with cheese and spinach inside. We had considered drinks and desert, but decided against it when we were barely able to get our water refilled. We went elsewhere for desert. After spending $100, I would have thought we’d have a better experience. Unfortunately, I find Ciao Bella to be majorly lacking from my past experiences. It is likely that we will not return.

This was our first time at the new location at 5101 Sanderlin Ave. Been coming to Ciao Bella (I believe the actual name is now Ciao Bella Italian Grill and Bar) for years. On this visit, first the good news – the food was still excellent, service was very attentive. And for the bad news – the new location has a décor that is much more upscale and modern than the old location on Erin. In making those changes, they have completely lost the personality that the restaurant had. Now it feels like some many other upscale restaurants. That is a shame, because personality was one of its drawing cards. Also, I believe the menu is much smaller than it was in the past.As for the meal, started with warm goat cheese dip and ordered a bottle of wine for our table. Dip was excellent, but could have used a few more toast points. Wine was also very good, but the server did something I have never seen before and didn’t like. She poured the entire bottle on the first serving into four equal but very full glass servings. When a bottle of wine is served to a table, it is proper to give nice pours to all drinking at the table, but not abnormally heavy pours. That completely took away our ability to decide for ourselves if someone wanted more than someone else. That is just inappropriate. For my main course I had pan-sauteed redfish. It was excellent. Others had beef brisket gnocchi, manicotti and cannelloni. Again, all of the meals were excellent and large. No one finished, so we took them home and they made a substantial lunch the next day. We also got one order of cannoli (2) to go. So summary is excellent food, good service but with a major error on wine serving, and a real step down on personality of the new location compared to the old one. As a result, it has dropped to jsut 4 star for me when it used to be a solid 5 star.

Food and drinks were fantastic. Our server was friendly and professional. The facility is pleasant and calming. It is relatively quiet, so you can hear the conversations at your table.

Great fun with friends at this local joint. Had the blood orange salmon with broccoli and it was good.Charming relocation but not quite as Italian as you might imagine. For some reason all of our dishes were lukewarm and not hot but the kitchen could have been backed up.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. This was by far the worst and most racial service we have received in Memphis. My husband and I were one of the first couples to sit down at the restaurant and our waiter Kyle constantly lacked service. We watched him talk to other all white tables and bring them bread, water and extra plates. We didn't get a water refill until we asked for the bill and I got half a cup. We had to ask for bread while all other tables got it and again we got it at the end of our meal. We both lost our appetites after this treatment and will not be returning. The worst part of this is that we were out to celebrate my husband's birthday and left feeling sick to our stomachs. This restaurant needs to reconsider how they treat their customers.
