Great food, but We have been to Italian restaurants all over the U S and this is the first one that did not put bread on the table!

I had really high hopes, as this restaurant was in my neighborhood and had been very hyped up. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The place was so loud, it was hard to have a conversation. The food was ok, just meh. The kicker was the $15 fee they wanted to charge us for bringing in a birthday cake my daughter made for my 84 year old mother. I will not be going back.

The overall experience lacked good customer service. The waitress forgot my wine, the waitress also forgot to serve bread sticks. The water was warm and I suspected it was tap water. I wanted clams or mussels, neither was available. The meal was okay. Half way through the meal I was finally served my wine and some garlic cheese bread that I didn't order. In conclusion, I didn't experience an authentic Italian meal. Very disappointing for me and my guests.

We visited Cocoza with my grandparents, who had just arrived in the city, hoping for a pleasant dinner. The initial 25-minute wait for a table wasn’t an issue, as we used the time to walk around the neighborhood.

When we were seated, our server, Olyvia, took our drink orders. My grandfather asked for a beer, which was accidentally spilled on him when she brought it. I understand mistakes happen, but what concerned us was the response: she handed us a few napkins, muttered a weak “I’m sorry,” and walked away without offering any real help or showing concern for what had happened.

Later, our food was brought out by a different server who didn’t know who had ordered what. She had to call Olyvia, who up to that point seemed to be avoiding our table. Without addressing the previous incident, she simply asked if we wanted another beer. We said yes, and she brought it without a word.

As for the food, it was highly inconsistent. Some dishes were drenched in sauce—almost like soup—while others were noticeably dry. Most of the meals were pasta-based, which made the contrast even more apparent. The “lemon cheesecake” had no lemon flavor at all.

To end the evening, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. On top of that, when the card reader was handed over, it prompted an additional tip of no less than 18%, which felt uncomfortable considering the overall service.

I appreciate the efforts of restaurant staff in general, but our experience at Cocoza was disappointing. The service lacked attentiveness, the food was inconsistent, and the forced tipping policy left a negative impression. I truly hope these areas are improved, as the place has potential—but the execution fell short.

Absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough. Food was perfect (chicken Parm is out of this world) service was perfect, the atmosphere was so welcoming I felt like family. This was my first time here and I promise I will be coming back every time I come this way!

We ate at Cocozza’s on June 5, 2025. Every restaurant we eat at we try the fried calamari. Hands down, best ever. The calamari was not greasy presented with marinara on one side cherry peppers and lemon aioli. Dinner I had veal Parmesan. One piece that filled two thirds of my plate. My wife had the pork Milanese. Both were fantastic. Ended the meal with two cannoli’s. We are arranging to go back before the end of the month with friends.
