I really wanted to like Dory more than I did. I chose the restaurant for an anniversary dinner while visiting Memphis. Many of the ingredients and preparations were unique and interesting but ultimately they didn't come together into great dishes. If I ate out in Memphis regularly I would give them another shot though. The staff was welcoming but seemed a little thin for the number of tables sat. All of the ingredients seemed very fresh and I really like the idea of having great local products available on the menu.

Service was very good, but waited quite a while for dishes to show up.The starters we ordered were oyster mushrooms and the squash. Both were excellent so that definitely gave me pretty high hopes for my main dish.I ordered the scallop and mussels citrus buerre blanc risotto, and while the scallops and mussels were cooked to perfection, the risotto was lacking in flavor. Pretty much tasted like plain wet rice…. the dish would’ve been better if the risotto was left out.For dessert we shared a cafe mocha. The cake and mousse was wonderful but the caramel popcorn on top tasted kind of stale.
We flew in from Michigan just for Dory and this is without a doubt a culinary experience you won’t regret. From start to finish this entire meal beat our expectations. Chef Krog took his time to come by our table a talk worn us during closing. Attention to detail is second to none.

This was one of the best meals of my life! My fiancé and I came here to celebrate our engagement and it was the perfect place. The food was impeccable and the staff was delightful. From our first cocktail at the bar to our conversation with the chef at the end of the night, who came out to congratulate us on our engagement, every moment was special. I am a vegetarian and also celiac and they accommodated my dietary needs with ease, bringing out course after course of creative and delicious food made with heart. We hope to be back every year to celebrate our anniversary!

Absolutely phenomenal! From the service to the food it was outstanding. The people working were so kind and hospitable — it was such a welcoming environment. The food was truly one of a kind and I’m so thankful Memphis has a place like

So sadly disappointed in our meals. We were a party of six and every order was prepared incorrectly. The scallops were raw on the inside and below moderate temperature, the side of potatoes were undercooked, the beef dish was medium rare when it should have been medium well. This was all served after we had already sent a cocktail back for tasting bitter. We did appreciate the service and attentiveness to our table however, we will not return.

We were so very disappointed because we had a great experience a couple months ago and wanted to try it again with some different friends. The service was so bad and the food was cold. We ordered 4 apps for the table and there was just no flavor, especially the pork belly, which we weren’t able to chew, and the mushrooms. The mussels were cold and several unopened. The rolls were stale and hard. Our four entrees came and we split them up between the four of us only to realize they were ice cold. We told our server and she just shrugged and said “hmmm” and walked off. We told the second server and she just shrugged and walked away. No apologies or offer to heat it up, nothing. Our drinks weren’t good either but no one seemed to care about much of anything at our table. The steak and pork were so tough we didn’t eat it. I specifically asked for my scallops to be cooked well bc I don’t like raw or cold scallops and they were both cold and raw. When she came with the dessert menu we just stared at her like you can’t be serious. $350 for cold, inedible food and some of the worst service we’ve experienced. Won’t be back. We all left stunned and hungry.

We recently visited this restaurant and had high hopes. There was simply one major problem. My wife needs Gluten free food and I needed Dairy free food. Going to a restaurant with these prices is normally never an issue. This evening it was an issue. The runners and the waitress did not seem to know or care about what they were serving us. The waitress just assured us that the kitchen made it correctly for both of our dietary needs. NOPE! Both of us were sick the entire next day. The restaurant is also a "small" plate restaurant so if you want to leave full, plan on getting every course and spending a lot of money. If you have a food allergy do not come here at all as it is clearly unsafe and the staff is not the slightest bit worried about it.

This is by far my best experience in Memphis. Zero waste restaurant, farm to table, the chef is such a nice person, came to our table to explain his concept. 5 stars well deserved.

They even included a cake for my birthday! Everything was amazing! Don’t look past the squash! It was an unexpected favorite.
Vegetarian options: Had exciting options that enticed me as an omnivore.

This wasn't just dinner, this was a true experience!! Not only was the food really amazing and all locally sourced, but it was the little details and the astounding amount of love and energy the staff and chef put into the evening. The kitchen is open and visible to the diners, especially where our table was, and we really enjoyed watching all the chefs prepare the dishes, it felt like we were watching parts of "The Bear" (the elevated cooking in a kitchen parts!). Everything about our experience felt personal and the little touches the head chef executed felt so heartwarming and sophisticated simultaneously. We didn't order dessert, but because we were celebrating our birthdays, the chef brought us a small plate cake on a dainty, special plate from his mother's kitchen. So so glad I took a chance on this place, and on such a special occasion too!! Couldn't recommend more if you're into classy, elevated, vibes and cuisine.

Used to be my favorite restaurant in town. Since they changed the menu to a “la carta”, food quality has changed for the worse. Don’t take me wrong, food quality is still good, but not excellent as it used to be. Atmosphere was incredibly loud, and unfortunately our waitress rushed our table. Really sad combination of factors, from what it used to be my top choice for fine dining in Memphis.Miguel Maturana

Easily the best dining and chef experience in this city. I love the thoughtfulness of each dish, the sustainabilty aspects and how it makes me feel so connected to food. The chef and his amazing team aren't hiding behind a wall - they WANT you to see them working on the pieces of art. The wine selection is unheard of to me but most of the time I've enjoyed them all. THE BAR FOOD MENU and COCKTAIL/SPIRIT FREE MENU is Top tier yall. Chef Dave Krog is also the friggin bees knees. Hes like a Michelin Star Chef but minus the french a-hole part.... He's the real deal... This is the place you bring your Chicago and NYC friends to so they can see what Memphis is working with. This is the place you go for unique memories. It's literally THE PLACE. But bring your wallet bc you are gonna order all 3 courses from the ala carte menu... but the bar menu is decently priced and the tasting are easily worthy every penny you worked hard for. BON APPETIT!

Incredible food, friendly staff, and good atmosphere! Went for my 30th birthday, and it was hands down the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The scallop was AMAZING.
