I didn't like that I had to cook my food over aluminum foil ... will not go back!

Have been to Midtown location several times and always enjoyed my meal. However, this was not the case tonight at Highland. Long wait for very mediocre food. Two of our dishes were inedible and very overcooked. Server didn't offer to correct this after seeing we didn't touch our plates. (Literally couldn't even chew the octopus). The restaurant appeared short staffed this evening, and had any attempts been made to remedy our inedible meal we wouldn't have been much more understanding and willing to return. As it is, we left hungry and smelling like old grease.

This place has gone downhill. I never see it with more than 2 tables full and one waitress. Their kimchi and potato salad are still good, but their Saewu Bokeum lacks flavor and any kind of spice now. It isn't worth the dang near 20$ it costs.

Stopped at this Korean spot near the University of Memphis and it was interesting. They allow you to cook your own food or you can order a dish they cook in the kitchen. I chose a dish that was cooked in house, the bibimbap. It was good and and nice sized portion and was served with a side of rice. I want to go back and try the meals that you can cook yourself and will do that in the future.

I thought the food was delicious. The service was very professional and I loved the exposed bricks on the walls. I have no complaints AT ALL. I wish I could say I will be back but I'm only here to see Graceland but Memphis needs to keep this little restaurant around so it will be here my next trip

I came from out of town to visit this location and decided to Dine in based off the pictures on google.. when I got there I was mind blown on trashy the presentation was . All I can say is aluminum and a pancake skillet … the icing on the cake was they put uncooked raw meat all on the same plate, pork, chicken and beef they serve me a big plate of Salmonella

This was the best experience in my life I love the ramen and the kimchi 10/10 recommendation on the soup. It’s like Heaven on a bowl. (try the stir fry too!) If you never had Korean food you should definitely come here its very good and i recommend it to everyone!p.s (you should play some classic Korean music in the background or play some type of tv entertainment like Anime or Korean talk shows.- Ziyon Danner

I had one type of Bibimbap with chicken. The amount of chicken and mushrooms was little compared to rice. The taste was average. Decoration and behavior were very good.

Server was very nice.Place looks nice.Tables sticky.Octopus dish very tasty - great taste. Octopus was more tough than tender.Bibimbap beef was ground beef? What’s up with that???Spicy ramen was not too bad but not worth $9 and for any protein you have to pay more?Kim chee was very good.Chicken bulgogi was very good and tender.Hope DWJ reads these comments and improve on them so we can consider trying it again after improvements

On par with other Asian food in Memphis. So if you're used to really good Korean bbq (this ain't it). Service was decent, ambiance was ok. I might come back if I was REALLY REALLY craving some semblance of Korean food while in Memphis.

This was my first time trying Korean cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant wasn’t very busy during the time we went so the server had plenty of time to explain the menu items to us. I was in a party of 6 and she made the perfect suggestions to each of us. The mango soju was very good! I wanted to go out and bought a few bottles afterwards. I played it safe with it being my first time trying it and went with the Chadol Baki. It was so good that I cleaned my plate! I’m definitely keeping this on my list of food places and will be recommending it to others as well!

Probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time… I usually only write good reviews of food places, but truly this was an exceptionally bad experience. The waitress did not seem to want to explain how the table cooking vs kitchen cooking worked and was unclear with her menu explanation. There were two other tables present- one that was leaving and one that had just ordered- and it took 40 minutes for our platter of uncooked meat to be brought out. Despite there being four of us, we were given two tongs and were told we could “figure it out amongst ourselves” because there were no other clean options. The order of ramen I received was like packaged ramen- similar to a Buldak bowl (which can be purchased at Walmart for a dollar) and was soggy by the time it was brought out- making the noodles puffy. Additionally, when the waitress was laying out the Korean BBQ plates, bowls, and meats her hair whipped onto the dinnerware, as it was styled all the way down her back. Beautiful, but not when it is touching the food and plates as she turns. Finally, although she said she would return to make sure we were using the pan correctly, she did not… and the pan was cooking unevenly with the crumpled aluminum they had placed over the skillet. Finally, though minor in comparison to the rest of the night, my friend had to ask me if she could drink my water, because the waitress never returned to refill any cup. Overall, it was a long string of inconveniences and disappointing food. The location itself wasn’t bad, though the restroom wasn’t very clean. Also, please be advised that the close earlier than the website says! Their door says 10pm, Google says 8:30, but in practice they closed at 8.
