I had a hard time putting my order in. Granted, I have an accent but not only did the person taking my order did not understand me, I did not understand him. The food is freshly cooked but they prepare it in the sitting area and I am not sure when I will get the smell of grease out of my clothes. All the food is served in Styrofoam takeout boxes (no plates) and they only have plastic silverware. The containers are layered with aluminum foil and when I ate my food I got aluminum foil on my fillings (feels like you bit down on an electric wire). I was hoping for something better.

The staff was super chill and friendly! They all had a great vibe and give you a great start to your day. The food gives you such a home-y feeling. Everything was well seasoned and simple! I will definitely be back.

It was not what I expected, especially to be as crowded as I have seen it. It was giving ennui. Everybody behind the counter looked like they just rolled out of bed. Uniforms, actual plates and silverware are a suggestion. We dined in but were served in Styrofoam to go plates and cups. We ordered a veggie omelet with turkey sausage and the pancake special with turkey sausage. The omlete was sparse on veggies and and full of turkey sausage that tasted like pork sausage. Unfortunately, I did not eat the super greasy omlete since I wasn't sure if the sausage was turkey, even though we were asked twice. The pancakes were ok but the egg whites with onion and mushrooms were tasteless. The coffee tasted like it had been sitting around for a long while and went well with the sticky table and decor.

I’ve been dining here for a little over two years. I definitely try to support black owned businesses, but this place is always hit or miss. Today, my food was awful. I ordered two, (One for myself, & a friend )ultimate hash browns, no pork sub for turkey bacon with a scrambled egg and extra cheese. My hashbrowns and turkey bacon both were burnt. And there was still pork sausage in my hash brown. I did not bother to even call to complain, because most times the owner will say well, “The cook has a lot to multitask and it’s just one of him.”
Let me also add, the cook has the nastiest attitude! He’ll be the reason they lose customers. I’ve witnessed him get ugly with an elderly woman about her order. If they’d change their attitude, and properly prepare orders, they’ll be A-ok!
Ruined a day, my grand daughter got her first job wanted to treat Grandma after Sunday morning service we shared together.Didn't mind the wait,special day or the prices,as we waited I got the chance to relate the story behind the famous Egg King Cafe and to teach her to check her receipt and food before leaving. We did,however the burned side was on the bottom and we couldn't see the running grease until you cut into the omelette.Oh well two good thing she got a history lesson and I got time with a teenager grand daughter,priceless.

Ordered eggs over easy, arrived cooked hard with busted yolks. The cook and presumed owner doesn’t take any pride in his work. Was sure to lambast the entire restaurant with his hack politics looking for reactions, too. Made for an unpleasant meal and I will not return to this joint.
