The food was delicious and the service was warm and welcoming. I really love Mexican food and very hard to please but this ElPorton always exceed my expectations.
And they serve real margaritas!

There is no reason for the food to not taste fresh during lunch hours. The bartender was really nice about taking the food back, but it terrible

I have dinner with a dear friend every Sunday. When asked where I wanted to go we chose El Porton. We were seated in a corner and I went to wash my hands. I came back and the chips and salsa were on the table and my friend told me he ordered us cheese dip. Our “server” brought an ice tea for my friend and asked what I wanted to drink. I got a margarita and my friend said bring one for him too. Our “server” didn’t ask what size, he just left and brought a small one (I thought ok whatever). Still didn’t bring the cheese dip… moments later I asked for our dip, he pointed to his head and shrugged it off. Brought the dip. We then ordered, I got the locos chicken burrito and my friend got the chicken fajitas. Our “server” walks away and then comes back and said “you wanted the beef burrito right? I said no chicken and if you get a chance, can you bring me a water please? He said yes again pointing to his head and shrugging it off. The robot brings us our meal and he puts our dishes in front of us. Mine is right but my friends was wrong he brought steak fajitas. We get his attention again and asked if this was steak he said yes, my friend said I ordered chicken. Again, he points to his head and shrugged. I began to eat my meal because I was hungry and didn’t want it to get cold. My friend gets his attention and says her water? He just acted like we were asking for something wrong but accommodates me with water. Moments later our “server” brings the chicken fajitas out for my friend, never once apologizing. We get our check, I said we are separate, he redid our separate bills and my friend said he’s not getting one dime as a tip from me. He said I really feel like getting a manager. We walk to the door and the greeters were up there. I asked if I could see the manager. They walked away and our “server” came walking up!!! I said, oh no!! That was the worst service I had ever gotten there and was so disappointed that he never apologized for his errors!

The service was amazing the atmosphere was ok its just a little dark and the Elote was wonderful. We had a couple of issues with the Street Tacos we had to send them back for being made wrong and for being cold but our sever was great and quickly fixed the issues.

Always great food and decent service. Mixed drinks are great!!
We were surprised that a robot delivered our food!! We thought it was a birthday thing happening until it delivered our food. Would have rather had a real person deliver our food.

The service sucks. They automatically add your gratuity so the servers don’t care to tend to you. The food is disgusting. Don’t waste your time or money.

My girlfriend and I were ready to pay our bill, about 15 minutes until closing, when we both noticed an older gentleman look at us directly and then shake his head to himself, disapprovingly with a scowl. I am white, my girlfriend is black. She has many tattoos, I am old. Despite as incongruous as that may seem. I, as a store manager, myself, would expect more welcoming gestures, especially with a $75 bill when the place was dead 15 minutes before closing. The waiter was great, spoke Spanish with him while ordering. The apparent owner? Not so much.

The lady that serves behind the bar has a real nasty attitude. If she wasn’t involved, there will be more business to be made because of her customer service skills sucks. I was just in there. I placed the order for Maria Maria special. She said she’s never heard of that Instead of trying to rectify the sale. She basically just let me leave. I’ve been dealing with this restaurant since I was in Cordova and then popular for years, they need to get rid of her or put her in the back to where she doesn’t offer customer service.
